Dr. Nicholas Wolterstorff, Noah Porter Professor Emeritus Philosophical Theology Divinity School and Religious Studies (Ph.D., Harvard University) at Yale University
Philosophers and theorists of art have focused almost all of their attention on “high art”– museum paintings and concert hall music — to the neglect of other kinds of art. After offering an explanation of why this is, Dr. Wolterstorff argues that we should expand the scope of our inquiries and reflect on other ways of engaging art as well, and offerse some indication of what such an expanded inquiry would look like.

Blue is mans favorite color.
A mans hair should be short , a womans should be long, this is unquestioned aesthetics of western civilization from ancient times.
A mans srtenght is his glory a womans glory is her hair, a childs glory is his father. A father is a childs origin not his mother.
Poverty, chastity obedience you may think has no place in art but it is the spiritual bedrock of western civilization.
The morining star is the mother mary.
A dog swinging its tail has more strenght and a mans glory is his strenght, the morining star is his favorite star, the rose his favorite flower the Lilly is the flower of the angels the diamond is his favorite jewel in ancient times it was the Emerald.
These are universal aesthetics of western civilization. Christ is the Lilly and the Rose.
Religion, philosophy, science , art , craft.
Art is art only when it cannot be done again , copys cant be made both by hand and machine but it is not the art work its self as craft is when you will have predictable results.
Religion frist as it has revealed truth, then philosophy tells you what could or should be done
Science gives you tools that give you the ablity to carry out your vision , art is when you take these set of principles and paint your vision as best as your ablity.
The Oil Painting is the Queen of Arts , Far from being dead is very much alive, and the painter is From stupid as some has said.
Art is an ablity known only to man , and man is far from his full maturity , an animal is not capable of such things.
Art cannot come into its oun untill it merges with the source of beauty which is the very face of GOD a terrible beauty not meant for liveing man, wisdom and beauty are sister spirits who dance in the hand of GOD wisdom giveing grace to beauty.

I completely disagree. All art has its propose for its being.
Art of any kind is never in and of its self simply with out its propose it does not exist simply for its existence.
If you read a poem it has its effect on you good or bad, your see a painting it also has its effect
As the bible says music has charms to calm the savage beast.
