Noël Carroll is Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the CUNY Graduate Center. As a journalist, he published a number of articles in the Chicago Reader, Artforum, In These Times, Dance Magazine, Soho Weekly News and The Village Voice. He is also the author of five documentaries and far too many articles and books to list. His books include Humour: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford University Press, 2014), Art in Three Dimensions (Oxford University Press, 2010), Comedy Incarnate: Buster Keaton, Physical Humor and Bodily Coping (Blackwell Publishing, 2007), Beyond Aesthetics: Philosophical Essays (Cambridge University Press, 2001), and A Philosophy of Mass Art (Routledge, 1999).
