  1. I agree; Roy Clark was an amazingly gifted and talented musician who also had a great flare for comedy. He also appeared on an episode of The Odd Couple playing a practical joking musician named Wild Willie Boggs who was an old Army buddy of Oscar's.

  2. love your videos, Bob. Beverly Hillbillies is still my go-to when I am having a bad day and just need innocent humour. Things have changed since the 60s. Shows like this are not possible anymore. But the simple humour helps us to look at ourselves in the 21st century – and hopefully, to make some changes

  3. I remember Roy Clark when he was on the show.
My parents and I had tickets 🎟 to see Roy and some other country performers in concert. My Mom showed me Roy's picture in the paper and asked if I remembered him from the Beverly Hillbillies. I said no. I realized later, it was because he wasn't wearing a crazy 😜 costume 😂 😅 🎉

  4. Would love to see those but for some reason Pluto Skipps many episodes even though they have 1 channel dedicated to Beverly Hillbillies. Thanks Bob.

  5. Speaking of "HeeHaw," I had the fortunate moment to meet "LuLu" at her home in Nashville several years ago. One of my employees at AT&T was friends with him, and we went to her house, where she cooked us dinner and shared her time on the show with us.

  6. Roy Clark was quite an entertainer. His episode of The Muppet Show had him playing several different instruments at once. He even blew a few notes on the trumpet. If anyone mentioned the plaid coat, he knew they saw him on The Beverly Hillbillies.

Getting a first TV kiss from Ellie May was great. Sometimes on Hee Haw a cartoon pig might kiss him. Jim Halsey was his manager. One time Myrtle Halsey tried to dress hip. Roy said that wardrobe got the biggest pair of pantyhose. Those were still relatively new back then. They had to cut the legs and he put them from the other end.
