Painting a Wave with Color and Movement | Bright and Colorful | “Spindrift”

“Spindrift” is a bright, colourful, abstract acrylic, wave painting. This painting demonstration was a struggle and is a great example of my general approach to painting – make a mess and then try to solve it! As a big fan of any type of puzzle, I enjoy a tricky challenge, so taking this approach with painting works really well. And you can see it all come together once it dries at the end and the finer details darken and become more defined, especially the ultramarine blue, turquoise and some of the pink.

I painted this on a 5×7 inch canvas board using the following Daler Rowney Graduate Acrylic paints (in order of application in the video): Phthalo Turquoise, Coeruleum Blue Hue, Ultramarine Blue, Titanium White, Primary Yellow, Permanent Rose and Leaf Green.

I’m an artist based in Kent, UK, painting mainly abstract acrylics. I love experimenting with colour and texture. Hope you enjoy watching me create my artwork 🙂

  1. I tried it and the result was so bad it went straight in the bin outside. I’ll look for your Facebook page and if I can do a better one I’ll share it. You make it look much easier than it is! ?

  2. J'ai essayé de peindre avec les doigts comme vous, mais je n'arrive pas a faire les fondues comme vous, faut'il rajouter de l'eau ou un medium avant de peindre avec les doigts ?
