Can someone please please help me with what he explains about text here as a performative act? Is this Dr. Schechner’s definition?
I can't agree its like making a cloth out of many threada. You need only one thread to make a cloth. Performance studies is like looking at the cloth and trying to make out the thread.

Makes a huge amount of sense and what I have always believed in that embodiment came before language. We had bodies before we ever had language – even if embodiment studies came later. Embodiment nevertheless always existed before language!
