With the introduction of AlexNet in 2012, the interest in CNN and computer vision, in General, peaked with a lot of advancement being made in this domain. Natural Language Processing on the other hand did not see such a boost in performance and Interest. In recent times, NLP has progressed leaps and bounds especially owing to the introduction of Transformers in Google’s Research paper “Attention is all you Need”. Since then we have seen a rapid advancement in NLP with the introduction of models like GPT-2, BERT, and now GPT-3. In this talk, we look at the recent rise of NLP and how it is making an impact on Industry and Academia”

Syed Hassan Jalil is a Sr Machine Learning Engineer working with a Canadian Stealth Startup in the Health AI space. A Masters Graduate from the University of Amsterdam, Hassan has worked with prestigious organizations including CERN and CWI Amsterdam.
A veteran Machine Learning Engineer, Hassan has experience in different domains of AI including Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing and Data Science. Besides coding, Hassan loves everything Tech and often writes blogs and makes YouTube videos.
