Barry Moses, an Adult Basic Ed Instructor at SCC, is racing against the clock to preserve his Spokane tribe’s Salish language. A poet, performer, photographer and amateur historian, Barry recently found Chief Garry’s original name, Slough-Keetcha, and is intent on capturing the previous generations’ knowledge before the keepers of his people’s stories die off. The recipient of the Deccio Excellence in Equity Award, Barry co-facilitates the CCS Intercultural Leadership Program.
