Physics on Khan Academy: Physics is the study of the basic principles that govern the physical world around us. We’ll start by looking at motion itself. Then, we’ll learn about forces, momentum, energy, and other concepts in lots of different physical situations. To get the most out of physics, you’ll need a solid understanding of algebra and a basic understanding of trigonometry.

About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We’ve also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

  1. Interesting how the transmission of sound is so similar to alternating current. The mechanisms work almost identically.

  3. Then why can I hear my neighbor having gay sex through the wall, is it because the sound waves are hitting the wall then the wall vibrates and starts to excite the air around it until the sound penetrates my ears?

  4. After seeing lot of videos, I could feel this is the only video explains very clearly how sound is produced by the speaker. Can you please explain how the sound behaves when there are more than one ear in various distance?

  5. Good, i just want to know how does a speaker oscillation makes such complexity in sound? How can the vibration of one speaker voice produce multiple sounds at once, yet we can only output one sound at a time from our vocal cords?

  6. WARNING: They play a sound that hurts your ears and they do not warn you about it before the sound is played! It should be illegal to play that tone on the internet. It did hurt my ears! I am furious with the Khan Academy! It's listed as a medical video as well … that's a double you should know better. I want this video pulled from the internet!

  7. The video is meant to help with the MCAT, which tests subjects other than biology, including physics.
