Robin MacPherson
Life transitions can be very destabilising for our language learning and other habits & productivity. Even without a big life change, our habits are constantly changing as we go through life and I think it’s really helpful to take a step back and re-evaluate from time to time. Today, after moving back across the world to the U.K. and going through lots of life changes, I’m starting the process of rebuilding all of my language learning habits and rituals as I work towards a new, productive routine.

What markers are those, @Robin MacPherson?
I really like the fact that you’re trying new things out !! We were born to evolve so we need to get used to changes and trying new ways to do things to see what works best for each of us, sometimes we miss a lot of good things and amazing opportunities cause we don’t want to leave our comfort zone but sometimes it is necessary!! Keep up the great work, you inspire me a lot ❤️
My issue with setting routines is that I have insomnia.
This was inspiring, I think I need to do something similar 👍 I am happy that from now on I will be able to spend more time watching YouTube videos from my favorite YouTube polyglots, because it is inspiring and it helps to stay motivated 👍
Great video! I like all the tips on organization and scheduling time. Is Catalan on hold for you now? I liked following you starting a new language from scratch!
Now I'm inspired to put in order my German verb notebook. All are conjugated and ready. My plan for next week. Thanks as always for your enthusiasm
Adoro tus vídeos 🙂
I have this urge to rub your flat stomach.
Thank you for sharing in detail good life habits.
Makes me excited to plan again and know things might not be perfect and need readjusting.
I studied abroad in Bristol for a year! It's really a fun, beautiful city! 😄 I hope you really enjoy it there!
Also, have you heard of a new social network called HiHo? It's a really amazing community and I think it might suit your content creation style ☺️
Great content as always, Robin! I have the summer off until I start my masters in late September, so I'm planning on hammering French (minimum 5 hours per day) to boost my level from B2 to near C1. I'd also love to get started with Indonesian in a small way If I have time. Best of luck with the new start in Bristol!
The way I’ve put off language learning for days simply because i couldn’t decide the notebook to use LOL
Hey, Rob. Great video, thanks. You have many tasks. How can you compete with each these goals?
I feel like I’m getting too much practice at getting back into studying Korean 😂.
I think when you learn a language school when young – it easier to go back to – when your learning another new language
Thanks for your sharing! Can you talk about intonation in a language. I have done lots of shadowing but my intonation doesnt sound like native speakers, especially my spanish. I can speak clearly and everyone can understand me well. My pronunciation is good but i dont sound like natives.
Moreover, can you give me/us tips about speaking a foreign language in front of camera:)) i just forget everything when i just start to speak, although i scripted already. Thanks so much for your tips!
Great plans Robin. I am sure you have inspired many including myself !
I honestly think that learning Mandarin Chinese can become a massive waste of time, and it is unrealistic to think one can learn it and be proficient unless is pouring thousands of hours. I did it and I wish I put those hours into improving my other languages, like Japanese which was already taking many hours on itself. So many times we get greedy in language learning, I know, but yeah, sometimes one has to say enough is enough.
Thank you Robin! I've been following your channel for awhile now and always appreciate your content. I am embarking on learning Dutch as my partner and I are moving to The Netherlands in August, and I've found myself overwhelmed by the move logistics to the point where I haven't really been making the proper time to study Dutch, but this reminded me that we're all human and it's good to be gentle with yourself and your language learning while keeping your eye on the prize. Dank je wel!
We need a follow up from this videoo! Please!
dude I grew up there. Are you anywhere near Park Street? Odd coincidence, I've recently found your videos as they're helping me rebuild my languages habits, and you moved to where I grew up. I wonder if you're still there.
Amei esse vídeo amo assistir teu canal .♥️
Oh cool, I lived in Bristol for two months before moving to Wales. Are you still living there?
