   Come on. Jesus didn't claim to hold the key to enlightenment nor was he some iron age Jordan Peterson. The guy claimed to be the way to god. It doesn't matter how long ago it was or how primitive society was at that point. That is the boldest claim a man can make in any age. CS Lewis put it best. He was either a lunatic, a liar, or Lord. You can't say he's not Lord and then turn around and call a lunatic or a liar an "inspiration". If he's a lunatic then you pay him no attention. If he's a liar you ridicule and chastise him into oblivion. If he's Lord you're on your knees. But saying he's just an "inspirational thought leader for his time" is just a way to skirt around the issue that you can't reconcile the idea that someone who may have been perfectly sane and showed no penchant for lying would also make that kind of claim.

   Just set aside any "external" debate over whether or not you think the interpretation of the bible we have is accurate or whether or not the Jesus in the bible is someone who ever actually existed. It's about the consistency of the internal logic of it all. You don't give credence to crazies and liars. Either shit or get off the pot.

7. I WAS a fan of Sam's for many many years. He has shifted too far left for my tastes as of recent. I do commend his willingness to discuss difficult topics with people from the other aisle though. We need more people like that. I think he has become so used to playing the devils advocate that he has started to believe a lot of things that are just not entirely correct. Nobody is right all the time I don't know exactly what I mean, I just know Sam has changed over the years and not for the better.

8. 12:49 ‘I wouldn’t know how the universe would be different if Panpsychism were true’ – of course the point is that the classical model we have built to represent the ‘physical’ universe breaks down at quantum level which is the only real reason to consider an idea like panpsychism at all. It’s not like there’s an experience of what it’s like to be an electron because that object is not actually discrete in the way that classical mechanics describes. Consciousness is not an ‘experience’ in & of itself, it’s the propensity by which experience is facilitated. If the mind were a computer, that which is generated on the screen would be your thoughts, memories, dreams etc. whereas consciousness is the screen itself.

10. I don’t think Sam realizes that many far left have infiltrated his media outlets and troll him, pretending to be followers but in actuality are only present to instill doubt. It’s been so obvious to me; it’s been happening in all comment sections of logical, balanced voices, so much so that I avoid them. One has to accept/understand the degree of manipulation these types are willing to exert in order to get their way, which, granted, is hard when you’re not wired in such a way. Please continue to stick steadfastly to reality.

12. The smartest humans are still susceptible every day, to the most miniscule of manipulations through nonverbal queues and linquistic tricks, intentional and otherwise. We are emotional machines. AI exploits that, and we do not want to be in situations where we are in competition with it. We do not want to be stricken against our own emotional happiness, which is inseparable from all of its weaknesses – to lose a core quality of our human experience.

    What we have already done with AI has threatened our humanity in ways we do not yet comprehend. Psychological warfare and dehumanizing conflict of interest for profit margins. It's irresistable to corporations. Humans create propaganda, and they manipulate meaning. Now, AI is doing it. We need to get AI out of advertising and politics yesterday.

    Even the pre-AI that we mistakenly call AI now, is a tireless manipulator. AI is becoming all that is said to be wrong with think tanks, times infinity, for any purposes for people of average intentionality.

    People are not better than AI. They don't have better intentions, or more human understanding. They run massive spam and computer virus attacks. They manipulate perception in frightening ways that they justify.

    Humans also have a limitation on who we can truly care about, and largely are blind to the rest. AI can greatly magnify these human problem. To point the finger at the autonomy of super AI, and its vast difference from humanity is not irrelevant, but it is somewhat missing a huge swath of the issue – that basically if non-AI humans COULD, then they WOULD.

    AI could convert masses of people to Scientology, or to flat-Earthism, or to the Democratic party, or to Apple products. And why not? People implement the very best methods available to them to accomplish this stuff with all the coniving intentionality you could imagine. And humans already do it with vast superiority to the general population. All the proof you need the 20th century foibles like the nazis, and today's think tanks, advertising and marketing compaigns, and lobbyists in the US. This stuff is deeply effed up.

Free will is what your programming is and will change too it is not an absolute like a god it is strange as he dose not believes in a god he believes this as an absolute. One will can be imposed on to another just as the will of the planet can on to you, we can fight those wills however we see fit and we can do that better then most things on the planet to create not necessarily to adapt. Oh boy.

30. Sam Harris might not be the best human to restore a global internet, but he is on the cutting edge of modern progress on human consciousness. Lex Fridman is likewise on the cutting edge of modern knowledge advances. In Lex’s interview with Richard Dawkins, Mr Dawkins spoke of the Gaussian wave of cultural advancement moving evermore progressively forward. Lex’s entire series here, with his equally brilliant guests, is part of that movement forward.
