  1. Some of the ‘bad CG’ you guys are complaining about was traditional optical effects. I’m not talking about the robot student’s head opening (which absolutely still looks good to me), but seeing through the fugitive nanny robot’s missing head parts was traditional optical layering effects using green screen. It was on a behind the scenes feature that I saw this. Speaking of this, are you sure the deer in All Gold Valley is CG? I couldn’t really tell for sure whether it was real or not.

  2. These flops man. The financiers and money men who own all the means of film production have been so single-minded in their search for safe capital dumps and easy returns on their investment that theyve both on the one hand sucked all creativity and innovation out of the major studio system and on the other hand so saturated the market with these remakes and reboots nobody wanted (not to mention comic book and comic book style blockbusters) that the entire house of cards is beginning to collapse around them. And as Ralph points out, all the big brands and franchises have already been gobbled up into the sphere of Disney or the other big bois. Makes perfect sense really, this is what the market does to art.

  3. Chaos Walking isn't the Charlie Kaufman movie you're thinking of with the different title… he is writing Chaos Walking, but it's a YA adaptation starring Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley that there has been no news about since April

  4. The movie with Bryan Cranston in a wheelchair is an US remake of a french film from a few years ago called "Intouchables". Check it out, it's… dividing

  5. I just watched the Mowgli movie on Netflix and they went with this sorta weird mix of photorealism and animated/cartoonish facial expressions and it was super odd. Hope Lion King doesn't suffer from the same

  6. Actually, there are 5 live-action Disney remakes coming out in 2019. They’re making a live-action Kim Possible Disney Channel Original Movie. It looks really bad. She isn’t even hot.

  7. Apparently Buster Scruggs was supposed to be a six part series but they repurposed it to be a movie before shooting. I remember that being announced but apparently the Coens denied that ever being the case.
