Ya it's not surprising. Obviously this is a pretty obvious capability given where we are at the moment. It's funny how everyone is so shocked when they finally put 1 and 2 together. In the next 5 years for example. Something like 40% of our job's will be displaced. And everyone laughs. I am not sure why everyone has such a hard time understanding exponential vs linear. But all that said. No I'm not angry I'm going to be out of work soon. I hope I can get retraining to work on something more interesting when the time comes. And if not than I am happy something superior than me came in to existence.
That depends on what they're trying to write. Replacing is perhaps a bad choice of words, rather I prefer to think of it as highlighting what's already obvious: writing (particularly fiction) for a living has always been spurious to begin with.
Fiction in particular, not only do you have to know how to write a fiction, but know how and where to sell it, based on subjective tastes for any given genre.
More note able is why they would want to replace human writers.
All the more reason to self-publish in my view.
Easy: when we get to the point of misinformation being ridiculous, we'll switch to newspapers again.
