Yeah, "measurement" the halting problem. There is no precision boundaries, only inclusive centers. So if science as actually about recognizing significant combinations, then we might abbreviate the "discipline" as QM – Maths and Physical Science/Maps, of change.
Maps are 2D images, in which, like a photo, the 3rdD is implied by the relative information density superimposed on the page, and those points in the plane are parallel and resonant in the interval between micro-macro vanishing points of the third Dimension. All observation is limited to this condition, everything else is "hidden".

One Philosopher that comes to my mind upon hearing Bell's ranting of Quantum Mechanical Foundations "measurement intensity" outages, is #ImmanuelKant . E.g., ~German~ "ding an sich" = The thing-in-itself is "equal to X". He then says, "We can know nothing of the transcendent, nominal, world behind the appearances." Of course, Physicist #JohnBell knows how to "take a look". Both men are EXCLUSIVE Subject Matter Experts but wanderlust clings to them like symbiosis. This is relevant to Mathematics as well i.e., author of ~Italian~"De Ludo Aleae"=Games of Chance, Mathematician #GirolamoCardano proofed the earliest historical knowledge of Probability Theory which, Harvard University School of Business used in the predictive modelling of how the most technologically advanced breakthroughs will be arriving. I'm paraphrasing, "The big technological breakthroughs that dominate global economies will not be the the results of SMEs, but rather hybrid knowledge synthesizers that work outside the spectrum specific localization." Hence, Bell's "measurement stagnation" referencing philosopher physicist words ARE important.
