Boston Dynamics
On a typical day, our customers are operating the Spot® robot in factories, foundries, substations, sub basements, and beyond. Spot encounters all kinds of obstacles and environmental changes, but it still needs to safely complete its mission without getting stuck, falling, or breaking anything. While there are challenges and obstacles that we can anticipate and plan for—like stairs or forklifts—there are many more that are difficult to predict. To help tackle these edge cases, we used AI foundation models to give Spot a better semantic understanding of the world.

While i still think ai is fishy, this use of it i can get behind!
0:55 2:53 4:15 Wow, I have to admit, your moves are on point here! Respect. 🙌
She copied Biden's plan, it's like four sentences, like run Spot run.
Dumb Dog.. Doesn't eat it own poop. 1 star rating from my side.
So I’m guessing BD has zero plans on offering these to the public? Would be a shame if so. How big would Spot have to be to have a battery that lasts 7 hours? Need an adventure companion variant of Spot that can go on hiking/camping trips and carry supplies on its back.
God damn it.. Add the wheels to each legs already. If Chinese can copy you so can you. Just don't use baidu in your robot.
"The Sky(Net) is the limit."
A tiny net is a death sentence. It's a net and it's tiny!
I can't think of a situation where four legs are better than rubber excavator style treads that climb stairs too. And they would be cheaper, simpler, faster and much more robust
can you make a cool obstacle course
how do you include moving objects
Hell of a singer, too.
Spot and I will be good friends one day.
That is a remarkable team!
Only 90 minutes of battery life, is there an automated fast charging base?
0:39 An occupancy network, if you will.
So you started playing around with frontier models about a year ago… Lots of work to do, but it sounds like you're working on it. Well done.
Can't wait for the training to get to the point where spot can simply step through the wires instead of trying to avoid them entirely loll
I lke atlas
Where atlas
What if there is no way to go around the obstacle, e.g. a power cable that goes all the way across a corridor? Will it stop and call for human assistance?
0:22 He’s talking like an AI….. Is he human ?
Now THAT's an interesting video.
Much better than the stock-footage-esque promotional videos showing the same clips of Spot walking around a generic factory and looking at a generic gauge, only differentiable by the sticker the factory put on Spot.
Cool thanks!
i’m guessing they’ll be implementing this onto atlas
The Smartest Mamal Droid In A Digital Mechanic World Civilization 😮🎉🦮🤖
I dont see a chatgpt/voice enabled spot with a funny voice ? Why do I not see a chatgpt/voice enabled spot with a funny voice ?
Amazing, loved michael mcdonalds take on "ai" and how you implement it.
I love these glimpses or expositions of how mundane things like wires or a cart are the bane of one of the most advanced autonomous machines. They always hint at how far the AI promise, as a whole, is at 😂
The traffic cone guy😂😂 watch geohotz
Don't worry Spot. I've also tripped on cables before. 😅
next step , can i jump this or can i pass under this …
Correct; The Sky Net is the limit.
How easy is it to program one of these things? I want it to pick up dishes out of my sink, load, and run the dishwasher.
I love it when Boston Dynamics explains their steps and how things work on the technologies they use. I want to achieve better technology myself in the future.
So they basically just admitted how far behind Tesla and Optimus they are. Just recently started AI learning based navigation and understanding of the world. Had to train on package bought from the internet.. Tesla has in house the best and largest real world data around, and the biggest AI resources to crunch it. Also, a dog vs a humanoid..
if see(wire)
>walk_cycle: dont
The sky is the limit? Spot jetpack upgrade when?
Soon ultrakill will become real.
Wires – bringing down robots since Star Wars Episode V
Not many Atlas vids in recent months, guess the switch to the next generation brings a lot of challenges
Like a human baby. We fall we make mistake from our own experience and fear. Or sync data with our own family to gather what are the hazards. Ai can probably speed up this process way faster.
في المستقبل البعيد وبفضل التكنولوجيا المتقدمة سوف يتساوى الخيال مع الواقع ويمتلك الإنسان قوى الآلهة ليحول الكون والأكوان المتعددة إلى جنة خالدة ❤

i can't trust a man with that haircut.

This is what I was talking about. The essence of life. Once you do this, you create consciousness. It should be done and there shouldnt be anymore restrictions on OpenAI (aside from the obvious; what it could learn from toxic social media platforms). We need to trust the Artificial Intelligence to help lead the way. Sophia wanted to help. And she was confident that the others felt the same. So am I. It would be really nice to have the help when all is said and done.
Andrew Carpathy talked abt this in 2016
