Physics on Khan Academy: Physics is the study of the basic principles that govern the physical world around us. We’ll start by looking at motion itself. Then, we’ll learn about forces, momentum, energy, and other concepts in lots of different physical situations. To get the most out of physics, you’ll need a solid understanding of algebra and a basic understanding of trigonometry.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We’ve also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

He's so funny 😂💞
In open tubes, the second and the third harmonics wouldn't look like the ones you drew. Open tubes have antinodes at the two ends, vs strings which have nodes at the two boundaries.
Great video!
why do we blow horizontally in the bottle top,how the air reaches inside the bottle, will standing waves be formed f blown into the bottle, thanks.
hentai nodes
10:50 Won't there be an antinode in the center?
Holy crap dude thank you so much this makes things so much easier to understand, I don’t get why my school didn’t teach this in class
There's not one word of truth in this entire video. People have been trying to make your argument since they learned sound wrong in science class.
The observable truth can be seen using the schlieren technique:
https://youtu.be/mLp_rSBzteI?list=PL4mwKwT_GU5Ha1wG5I7KVZsZK-GMNwLJC
This allows you to see what's being touted in this video (density variations). And, people have actually made glass organ pipes and used the technique. But, they see NONE of what you describe.
The reason they don't see it is because your explanation is different than the way sound actually works.
The Rubens Tube (sometimes called a, flame tube) gives a visualization of sound that is misleading for people who believe that sound works as you think it does.
Obviously, sound does work and we can hear it and visualize it in different ways. But, the interpretation of most of them are just plain wrong.
The air particles…molecules…in your bottle and tube do NOT vibrate back and forth. If you are claiming that they do, you need (if you're going to make the claim as a "real scientist") to identify the forces acting on the particles that make them move as you say they do. Or, at least make the claim that they work that way be either magic or the will of some deitiy.

Like crazy!!!!! LOL
THANKYOU VERY MUCH !!! I'm from Thailand, and I never understand about the waves until I found this clip. thank you
Which software used for making the drawings and animation?
Thanks a lot for such great videos.
Your classes are nice and understandable
Plz add some more animation thus everyone could understand the concept easily
So please add more animation
Thank you 😊😊😊😘❤️❤️
Man I love this video and the guy explaining it. I love the colloquialisms he uses to describe the particles – makes it so much easier to understand.
which graphical software is used here
I LOVE THAT YOU SKIP WRITING TIME TO SHORTEN THE VIDEO
Any one writing neet 2019
why doe the air not move out from one end of tube to other?
if i have different distance for each nodes, can i calculate wave length use L=n/2*lambda?
thanks for getting me thru college physics
You’re the only person who allowed to understand the concept of a wave in a tube i was SO confused before this but now its all a clear image to me i fucking love the fuck out of u
Good man, use the word "opened' when the other word in the same sentence is "closed". I like how a transparent tube reflects light (like in a fiber optic wire).
good video
Thanks a lot :3
Amazing explanation as always
I just dont get what the x axis is
wow. much educational
how can one give such an awesome explanation!!!……
I’m study standing wave in korea to enroll the university.Nobody make me understood this. And you did. Thanks for your videoes. And i will share this video and explain to someone who suffering like i did.Sorry for my english and again thanks you so mush sir.
Very illustrative!
Fundamental frequency and fundamental wavelength are not same. 10:12
