i dont knpw whats worse this guys pseudo intellectualism, his assumed empirical truths, or his lip smacking and mouth popping.
Not a Pinker fan, but he makes some good anti-SJW points here.
This guy is right
Brilliant and insightful, but I can see where mystics squirm in their seats.
DILECTRIC MATERIALISIM= COMMUNISIM
His criteria for what's inside & outside reasonable inquiry is preposterous. That he's not an avowed NWO socialist is also conjectural. His book on violence amply demonstrates that he is no advocate of 2nd Amendment gun rights. That he manages here to pretty much skewer SJW's is a little surprising to say the least. As a theoretical psychologist, he's a mental midget compared to William James.
Monotone… reading off a prepared text… poor speaking skills.
But he does bring up valid points.
Sorry, but, just another person who thinks his opinion is what we 'know'. Sounds like everybody else.
Excellent, but you can't avoid 'soulcraft' if the soul doesn't exist. We are what we do, eat, learn and were born with. Being free to express our preferences to the maximum in deference to certain principles is great, but then we can't be equivocal about those principles.
This guy is a fool.
Good! He mentioned Popper. Good!
His view is simply logical positivism – not exactly the strongest epistemology to put your faith in. I wonder if I should believe him based on his authority.
another case of censorship
Many things we "know" now, will evolve into something else in future Mr Pinker.
Preach.
The text is from his editorial in the Boston Globe but I am curious as which college he gave this version to.
