Dr. Stuart Hameroff discusses cellular biology, microtubules, and explains why the ORCH-OR theory he developed with Sir Roger Penrose opens the door to quantum consciousness & biological quantum computing.
The ‘Orch OR’ theory attributes consciousness to quantum computations in microtubules inside brain neurons. Quantum computers process information as superpositions of multiple possibilities which, in Orch OR, are alternative collective dipole oscillations orchestrated by microtubules.
Hameroff is known for his role as the co-founder of the Orchestrated objective reduction model of consciousness, which he developed in conjunction with physicist Sir Roger Penrose in the early 1990’s.
Dr. Stuart Hameroff is an anesthesiologist and professor at the University of Arizona, author of the book “Ultimate Computing”, and lead organizer of the biannual Science of Consciousness conference.

There are Reasons they are ignoring this i think!! It branches into other quantum sciences that can help humanity… They are staying in the chemical realm of thinking and staying out of the physical realm of interaction.. Not all reactions are chemical.. there are ones that are electromagnetic driven.. quantum is close to light speed propagations in the body.. biochemical effects being cellular activations are much slower to occur?

This will probably sound absurd but now the salvia divinorum experiences that I've inflicted upon myself now seem to make a lot more sense, especially the recklessly heavy, high dosage ones. I've dabbled a bit with psychedelics over the decades and that particular one is very peculiar indeed with a markedly unique experience. Seemed overwhelmingly molecular in nature and involved a seemingly infinite amount of perfectly shiny coloured balls that stretched almost infinitely away in a line, and one after the other would greet me in a breif moment of conscious recognition, my addled brain interpreting the balls literally greeting me, like hello Martin ad infinitum. Anyway it's ridiculous l know.
If consciousness arises from these neural microtubules, and if the the neural tube is the first major structure to develop after conception, what does that say about abortion?

Oh you heleped me understand what happened here. I the self structure had an experience of it all falling away including gravity and at last the breath fragmented into many centers in the void. Fear brought the appearance of self and here back into experience. I was calling this out of body but it may have been beyond that "quantam state collapse" very well

Could quantum consciousness explain creativity and imagination? Seems to me like the most logical answer to something so astonishing as creating something entirely new just by “imagining” it
The mechanism is water memory within the microtubulin preserving the Orch-or that is propagated through the bio electrical gradient. But orchestrated by the coherence of pi resonance. The binding event of collections of orchestrations along the periods of 10’s to 100’s of milliseconds depending on the system of interest in the brain represent different categories of conscious moments. Affective state shifting being the primary system for value selection across the dopaminergic system.

I did not want the interview to end. Hameroff explains things so clearly and succinctly – a real joy to listen to. I hope when he is retired he has time to study phenomena such as NDE, OBE and terminal lucidity. If I could, I'd ask him whether he thinks a temporary stabilization of microtubules might be responsible for terminal lucidity & if yes, how that might occur.
