World renowned monk and globally admired speaker Swami Sarvapriyananda ji gives his first ever talk in Finland, on the subject of Consciousness. One of the great teachers of the vendanta, I still remember hearing priyananda while being a young materialist atheist disilusioned with religion, it was a breath of fresh air.

In 1967 when I was a radical fundamentalist materialist I took LSS aa a scientific experiment.
There was atime during the trip that my hands were talkinv fo each other as though they had their own separated consciousness.
As I'm listeningvto this talk I remembered that and it brcame a metaphor for our apparent individual consciousness vs that of the Ultimate Reality (Brahma).

It has been a great solace to listen to your speeches. i deeply aspire to dedicate this life for Spiritual Sadhana and to get closer to God as much as possible.
But there is a big obstacle in my Spiritual path which is dragging me again n again into negativities each time i progress a little.
Since childhood i ve been a helpless victim of blackmagic n crooked tortures from my elder brother n his wicked guru. That has caused health problems in my body , mind and has ruined my social life.
And now with the help of some durmanthravadins , astrologers n oraganizations he is trying to trap me and put me in assylum. Within a week he may succeed in it and if he does, he will destroy me so badly that i would never be able to do any Spiritual Sadhana in this life.
i am in big trouble. Please help and bless me Swamiji , to be shifted to a secure place to stay protected from his men… where i can pursue my Spiritual Goal more deeply.

Swami Sarvapriyananda talks about Consciousness, the Witness in which this world appears in three phases: waking state, dream state and deep sleep as the ultimate reality. But there is another view in which this Consciousness is actually a false one, which is only the appearance of the one that really exists. True ,pure consciousness does not project any world, but is only aware of itself.
Swamiji discussed the bet between Christopher Koch and David Chalmers. In 2023, Scientific American reported "Koch then doubled down on his bet. Twenty-five years from now, he predicted, when he will be age 91 and Chalmers will be age 82, consciousness researchers will achieve the “clarity” that now eludes them. Chalmers, shaking Koch’s hand, took the bet.". So, the debate goes on…
