"All the bridges would shut down because none of the payment systems would work."
How about letting people through for free in that case?
Wow this is utterly mind boggling
2:16 – Rabbits being rabbits 🤣
why am i only learning about this now?
I wish GPT-3 could write my AI essay at the minute. That would be meta…and cheating.
Thankfully you don’t need money to cross a bridge. Isn’t it funny that your tax dollars get loaned to a company who then loans the company who builds these bridges a loan. Once they build the bridges with your borrowed money. These bridges are now private and you get charged a toll to use them. Just another government scam to make themselves rich while stealing it from us. They use our money and our labor to continue this cycle with every aspect of our lives. Keep paying those taxes!
Just so people know. We are supposed to die. Actually there is nothing wrong with it at all and it’s definitely not something we should try to control or fear!
Stephen, you don't seem simple to me. Why then do you give your voice to such one-sided and naive propaganda? Surely an approach examining both the potential dangers and benefits in the light of our current problems with technology–would be much more valuable and truly educational.
"The purr of the engine would be too distracting"… I lol'd at that.
It's all true 👍 👍 👍
Perhaps everyone else has spotted it but isn’t the first use of quantum computing going to be before everyone else has been able to move over to quantum cryptography to protect their secrets and hence the ‘winner’ gets to decrypt everything ?? Sounds like government spending on this stuff (if it hasn’t already) is about to go through the roof.
Yeah Quantum computing will be the beginning of a huge leap forward but it will be either sold to the highest bidder or used to gain an advantage not to advance humanity. No technological revolution has ever. It will be used to generate profit and power. It's great we can do such amazing things but what's not so great is how we choose to use these new capabilities. Nuclear Power, could be safe and clean, is it or did we choose the route that allowed us to make weapons? The internet, was supposed to deliver a future where no truth could be hidden. Until they figured out the way to hide information is to publish more not less. The bigger a haystack is the harder it is to find the needle. With Quantum computing we will have amazing new methods to gain an advantage over others and you think it will be used for the good of mankind? Those who have the power will not be keen on that idea, unless they can monetize it while still retaining control.
Stephen fry and pindex is a match made in heaven!
Dislike it, very dangerous stuff.
Stephen Fry, the new Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Just know that for every positive use of new technology, there will also be a way to misuse it. I am both excited and scared of Quantum Computing. Not that it matters much, because it is coming either way.
Wouldn’t quantum computers mean the end of personal security because they can crack any public key’s private password?
These Little Big Planet intro videos are just getting better and better.
Basically SADAR from the Bobiverse book series.
👎😧👉 An interesting video, but please, next time record with some more sound volume.
I turned the volume of my system full up but Stephen Fry was still hardly audible.
Can you measure acceleration of an object that is an inertial reference frame? As I understand it a falling object has no forces working on it (gravity not being a force but rather a warping of spacetime and in the case of free fall more a warping of time rather than space) and is effectively in a state of weightlessness. Would acceleration register?
Well, if governments won’t switch maybe AI will help us find a way to bypass governments. I suggest they start with the biggest governments.
Yeah, and ten minutes later the evil genius takes over the world. God bless the people working on this stuff; I don't see it ending at all well.
Awesome video once again
Fascinating subjects + Stephen Fry. How does this channel not have millions of subs?
You are missing a link to the branch education video in resources, very untested channel.
Hmmmm … I remember my first “transistor” radio. It had 8 “solid state” transistors and was big on bragging rights. It only required 4 “D” cell batteries to operate. They lasted only a couple of days, but wow, it was amazing.
Hmmm. Do you really need this technology to sense cars around corners? Perhaps cars can use radio signals to let other cars know of their location.
All this is just as I had hoped for as a boy, I loved to dream and these were my dreams. I think we are so close to the golden age and at the same time to oblivion. I hope the good guys win come on you White hats and save the day…
What can possibly go wrong with this? Leaky vacuums perhaps ;). Everything rots over time after all …
GPT3 was scary.
Feels like stock pumping. Not saying it is, just that it has that oily feel. 🙁
One thing phones do now which they didn't. Track your EVERY move you make. Humans = DATA
Stephen Fry needs to voice EVERYTHING!
Skynet is coming.
When am I going to get my 'crystal' chips and data storage?
I got half way through the video before thinking this might not be GPT-3 generated convincing-sounding nonsense.
I can't think of a way this will end well for humanity.
Also, there is absolutely zero chance of governments and spy agencies NOT using GPT-3 already – it's trivially easy to create a fake persona (thispersondoesnotexist, anyone?) and make OpenAI let this person in.
