  1. The view of James employed by the two here is a misunderstanding of James by Dewey. James was much more a Spinozist, advocating a less sequential view of perception, affect, and awareness of affect than often described.

  2. Emotions come Through the chakras of the soul.
    You cannot feel emotions without a soul or chakra energy centres.
    Emotions are controlled and governed by God and the angels in heaven.
    Emotions are part of our learning on earth and acompany our actions and deeds that we do in life.
    Some emotions can feel good and nice others can feel disempowering. and negative
    When we do something wrong we may feel guilt shame or remorse that is god giving us those feelings as a form of punishment and a means to learn from our actions

  3. If I see a bear and run because of a fear response, isn't that still thoughts because of my beliefs of what a bear is.
    I have a concept of bears in my mind and what they are capable of, which kicks off the physical and mental states.

  4. I noticed a large percent of philosophers do not believe in a priori truth or knowledge. What about emotions hardwired by evolution? Does that count because that is about as solid as science gets. I guess it's all how you define the terms, like always.

  5. It might be useful to distinguish between emotion and mood. Emotions seem to have cognitive content moods do not.

    Sometimes I feel depressed, but I don't have an object for that depression. Other times I feel sad, but when I feel sad I am always sad about something.
