3. The question that I can never seem to find the answer to, is how do you go about detecting a single photon without interacting with it? What kind of detectors are being used? I just keep hearing detector this, detector that wherever I go and look, but nothing about how this is done specifically. Are there any actual physical experiments that have been performed on video where this is explained? Thank you. Great video though. :).

5. Tyson has the measurement problem which is typical for atheists, just remember that physics only gives data, physicist give interpretations and the measuring device causing collapse doesn't add up, simply do more research and you will see for yourself.

6. Ridiculous explanation. Obviously, a conscious observer had to see results of the experiments to determine the results. If the scientists never checked, they recieved no information. Once they checked, the wave function collapses. Simple.

7. As a partial moves through the air it creates a particular sound frequency, this information is not searched for but given free . Now to record this information would not interfere with the nature of the experiments. The out come is the same wave when not observed slot when.

The problem with the video was obvious when I saw they went to the trouble of animating a poster of "What the Bleep Do We Know?" on the wall, which is infamous both for its pseudoscientific, New Age-y tripe, as well as being made by adherents to a cult that follows a charlatan who claims to channel a 35,000-year-old entity named Ramtha. So I knew it was going to be 90% basic explainer of a topic, but with a nice layer of bullshit, and it was no surprise when it started ascribing consciousness to electrons.

9. Your attempt to clarify is appreciated as it is clearly in the spirit of knowledge advancement. Unfortunately, your response is guilty of the same fault that is made by the Dr. Quantum video. Nobody knows how to explain the appearance of wave function collapse. Period. This is the "measurement problem". The fault of the Dr. Quantum video is to pretend that we do know how to explain it (via a "consciousness" interaction). The fault of your video is (also) to pretend that we do know how to explain it (via a "measurement" interaction).

   I would advise you to read something on the measurement problem that is written by an expert in the field known as "the foundations of quantum mechanics" and then revise your video, since I worry that your video creates more confusion than it removes. If you do this, then you will be in a better position to cite adequate sources. Neil deGrasse Tyson is an expert astrophysicist. He is certainly not an expert in the foundations of quantum mechanics and his statements to Joe Rogan are naive and not in line with standard thinking within the foundations community. Secondly, Yu and Nikolic are neuroscientists who are also not experts in the foundations of quantum mechanics. If you look to the secondary literature, you will see that their argument has already been debunked. The fact of the matter is that the consciousness interpretation is one of a very large number of hypotheses about what explains the appearance of collapse that are consistent with all known experiments.

   A real expert in quantum foundations is John Stuart Bell. You might start by reading his paper, which debunks Tyson's "measurement causes collapse" interpretation which you seem to like:

10. you have to prove detection is collapsing the wave function, theres millions of particles that could collapse it but only detection does… the only unique thing about detection is consciousness prove me wrong… im not even a scientist, this video is bullshit… it raises a great point thats it there is no science whatsoever

    The video also shows the collapsed wave function resulting in two lines only on the screen. I don’t think this is what actually happens. I believe a single slit pattern would be seen. I am not a 100% sure on this. It would be interesting to know.

13. Oh I could tell from the beginning that Dr. Quantum was pure quantum mysticism. It's something I ran into years before that so I was already wise to it. It's one step removed from the ramblings of Deepak Chopra. Quantum is a buzzword for pseudointellectuals to throw around in their new-age religion. And consciousness has NOTHING to do with quantum mechanics, and I think it can exist as a pure mathematical abstraction. These "deep learning" neural network algorithms that produce more advanced AIs like alphazero and microsoft's tay are entirely digital but they are something else simply because of the method of information processing, but it's still information processing within a classical computing framework, not a quantum one.

    Always beware of any time you see the word quantum. You are very likely dealing with zealots of a sort.
