  1. This was the easiest listening I've, well, listened to. Two giants in the field of Physics. Tyson and Thorne bounced wonderfully off each other. Tyson's straight to the point, point out the obvious and dismiss the Hollywood trajectory of science clashes well with Kip Thorne's offbeat style of informing. His use of subtle description and synopsis and having you deduce the outcome just works here. An absolute great watch and listen this was ❤

I disagree. even though he may not have thought of explaining how he knows what books to push from behind the books earlier in the movie when he told his daughter murph to go downstairs and eat she told her father shes been trying to come up with a code to decipher it. he picked up the book off the floor and looked at it intently as well as looking at the bookshelf I'm certain it was at that moment in that part of the movie, actually does a very good job explaining within itself that he was paying close attention. hewas in deep thought and when you put the book back on itself he stood there for maybe a split second or two looked at the book and then turn around and walked away. to me that was enough to explain that he remembered which books to push from behind the black hole.

  4. This is the first time i saw someone zone outed mr neil with so much info that he could not follow, about exotic matter. He totally lost it there 😂 laughing and joking to fill in 🤭🤭 never seen before! 🤓 i can listen to Mr Kip for many hours ,talking about ‘vision developing’ subjects and making you think (even where most of the time will pass with long pauses and hilarious tick”aiiy”, i cant “not listen” him. 🙏🏽The “aiiy” could be geniously made , where keeps you stay actively in the subject, if you drift , one or two “aiiy” can hook you back to video and subject immediately 🎉 it works fine . 🤩

  5. Thank you so much for this most recent incredible interview with respectable Kip Thorne! I am so happy that I could at least buy a translated copy of his book The Science of Interstellar, the movie inspired me to find out more about the universe we all live in, I would never know his name or his works if it wasn’t for the movie and my own curiosity after having watched it, there is no public educational courses in my small town, nobody had ever told me about gravitational waves or general relativity. What had I been doing on physics classes all those years? 😂 I have no idea, it was all boring and daunting until I discovered the universe out there!

  6. Kip Thorne is an amazingly brilliant man. Who speaks to scholars worldwide.. How does a speach impediment like 'uhiutt' every 5 seconds not get recognized in a brilliant mind to ..slow down..gather your thoughts, and make your point? ..and nobody should give me a Stephen Hawking reference for obvious reasons..
    I am a really bad speaker, but i recognize that, avoid it, focus on things i am good at, and not try to sell a book in the process.

  7. Interstellar is my favorite movie. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years already, that’s crazy man. I love anything that can expand my mind and teach me to understand something I never knew before.

  8. Love Kip Thorne. But I still don’t understand interstellar’s plots, even if the crop situation is completely unsalvageable, how is going to another planet gonna suddenly provide food? Alien plants…? If it’s a matter of resources on the new planet then how can you disagree with Tyson that coming up with the resources here, no matter how difficult, would be easier than going to another planet…

    Just an observation, I know Neil is joking when he contradicts and/or interrupts, but it comes off as very arrogant and rude at times… in my opinion. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ Other than that, liked this a lot.

  10. Everytime Neil talks about Interstellar even in his other talks he brings up this “terraforming” topic. I don’t remember that concept being in the movie having seen it more than 20x. That’s why they sent all those people to find potential habitable worlds in the first place.

  12. Neil, I don't think a black hole sucks everything into some fine point, and it's center. Yeah, this dude doesn't have a clue about what's going on inside of a black hole. It's not even a f**** hole. It's a interdimensional space
    That grows from absorption. And this lets me know that math needs to be updated like a software program that's outdated, that needs a newer, more advanced version.
