As a hobbyist photographer, I realized a few years ago that my hopes of building a small, engaged community on Instagram were quietly slipping away. I never aimed to be famous, I just wanted a handful of people to appreciate my work, offer feedback, and maybe help me grow. But over the last 3–4 years, I’ve seen a shift: AI-generated content is now everywhere, and much of it is indistinguishable from real photography. You can still catch obvious flaws when it comes to animals or people, but with flowers, landscapes, or moody scenes? Most viewers can’t tell the difference, especially in an online space where attention spans are practically nonexistent.
Even before AI could generate photorealistic images, I remember seeing the early signs: AI-generated music, basic videos, better image models. Then came fluid, coherent videos with realistic voices and human-like motion, and it all happened so fast, it's honestly hard to grasp.
Now, I’m almost certain that within a year, we’ll see the first wave of fully AI-generated short films, created with more advanced models than we have today. They’ll be profitable too, not because they rival Hollywood blockbusters, but because many people are fascinated by the novelty. Just like non-artists can now create stunning visuals with a few text prompts, non-filmmakers will soon generate entire scenes, and with a bit more effort, full movies.
It’s inevitable that this will disrupt the industry. Traditional filmmakers will feel the impact first. But eventually, just like every other creative field touched by AI, they’ll adapt and start using it themselves. Whether that’s a good or bad thing… remains to be seen.
Am I the only one wondering who these guys will sell their goods and services to if no one has any money because no on has a job. Hard to make money w/o customers.

So, we have to stand up, get together and do… what exactly? Do you understand that for every human standing there will be three streikbrecher bots running around basically for free (well, for the very same human' taxes)? And what would be our demands? Better pay? Shorter working hours? None of this helps in grand scheme of things, it's just a middlemen trying to secure their piece of pie to come. Even if corps will be forced (somehow!) to continue to formally employ every single worker whos job is now being done by LLM, what would those people do for 40h a week? "Self-improve" all day every day? Cmon, we all know how this ends. So yeah, in a long run there is no definitive solution to this problem outside of elimination of LLM. One way or another it will end up in war. Not the skynet vs humaniry kind of war, the tech huggers vs the people kind. But you know what would help? If people stopped to produce content. Right f now. Stop making videos, stop posting comments, stop talking over anything digital, stop publishing digital books, pass the laws to deny LLMs from scraping scientific publications and such. Basically, go offline. Or at least into read only mode. Can you do this? Ahahah! That's why you are history.
