Good job on detailed explanation. Do you also support teaching Hindi ?
It surprises me how much is intelligible to Icelandic speakers.
The Swedish alphabet may have 29 letters but "w" doesn't really exist anywhere, except in some recently imported words from English.
Sweden has more than 10 million inhabitants, not 8. Although, a significant portion of immigrants may not be fluent in Swedish.
I really love this language ❤️
As an English speaker swedish language seems super easy for me
Sooo i live on an island is sweden that has kind of a weird accent thing. So I speak like 70% normal Swedish. 20% Göteborgska and like 10% ömål/bs that no one understands
i speak sweadish and live in finland
the t in inte is long
Tbh I usually speak as a native speaker a bunch of different dialects. Since k'm from gothenburg we pronounce k as sch more often than stockholm but i genuenly speak traditional swedish.
why am i here? i am swedish.
If anyone is curious about swedish accents, this song https://youtu.be/I47_pWLc4Eg is great for hearing a sample of different regional dialects. The Gothenburg accent, the Skåne accent, the Stockholm accent, Umeå/northern accent, and at the end, the eastern accent 🇸🇪
I am 100% svenska, but speak alot of English lol
i almost know more english than swedish even than swedish is my native language
Jag hatar Svenska
Jag vill va Amerikan elle nåt!!😭
Edit: Ibland gillar jag inte Sverige häller, de får typ t.ex:
En massa avsnitt av asbra serier 1-2 år senare än USA
I started learning Swedish almost a year ago via duolingo.. Sadly there was not a direct lesson with Italian (my first language) so I started with translations from English… So far it has been an easy journey, I find that the grammar is quite similar to English and in one way or another the lexicon is easy to remember mainly thanks to the way the lessons are organized. The hardest part that I still don't understand is the proper use of prepositions like på, i, åt, för, till… På is like "on" but is used a lot of times as "at" (jag är på min fasters och farbrors bröllop), i is like "in" or "inside" but sometimes is used as "for" (jag sover i flera timmar), åt should be "at" but I saw that use as "for" a lot of times (jag väljer åt dig, kocken lagar mat åt oss") and so on and so forth. I am really confused!!!
Swedish is easy compared to my mother tongue
eu sou

nós somos
ele é
ela é
eles são

vocês são
vós sois
Jag är
du är
du är
vi är

I have to say that the word "drink" and "dricker" is not the same.
Dricker=drinking
Dricka=drink
Dryck=drink
