Thunderbirds Tracy Island is the HQ for International Rescue. ITV are remaking the Thunderbirds television series and it will be on our screens from April. There’s a lot of cool new merchandise, including a new Tracy Island coming out and I managed to grab an exclusive video demo of it at London’s Toy Fair 2015!

Also on my show today, I look at some other prototype toys that were on show at the Toy Fair by toy giant- Vivid Imaginations. I put i-QUE the Intelligent Robot to the test and I looked at another intelligent form of car racing similar to Scaletrix but without the need for tracks. They call it Real FX. Both toys, including the Tracy Island play set are due to be out in July 2015. All released by Vivid.

i-QUE Intelligent Robot (reviewed)
I decided to put I-Que through his paces when I was given a demonstration of him at the Toy Fair. The talking toy automaton looks sophisticated and intelligent – But is he really the smartest, most intelligent robot in the world?
i-Que intelligent robot is a veritable mine of information. His central red glowing eye looks quite menacing and he can fire lasers and blasters! He also farts quite rudely and tells jokes. He’s friendly and he’s fun and he has some amazing sound FX. When he snores, his cap jitters.
I did find him amusing, however, he could not answer my single question for him, “How does thunder work?” which I asked him spontaneously! The demonstrator rephrased my question by asking him if i-Que was afraid of thunder… Not quite the same!
Nevertheless, it is the smartest toy robot I have come across so far and i-Que is highly entertaining.
Maybe I’m too young for it. The toy is designed for children aged 8 to 12 years of age.
Vivid’s I-Que Intelligent Robot will cost £60 and will be available from around August 2015. i-Que claims to be the first robot that connects directly to the internet. Ask him a question – be it maths, science or general knowledge and even what his favourite film is.

Real FX (demo)
I had a lot of fun with this intelligent car racing game and was given a great demo at the Toy Fair which you can see in this video.
Vivid also now owns the rights to market another game we feature in this show. Real FX!! We got to meet Wow! Labs development team at the Toy Fair 2015. Developed by Wow Stuff’s technical division Wow Labs and launched to international markets in Hong Kong during the October trade fair, Real FX has been successful in most territories. Using Artificial Intelligence Real FX claims to offer the most realistic driving experience in remote cars ever created.
Like in video gaming, Real FX doesn’t require another physical player to compete in a race. Infrared Opto sensors on the cars read the track 200 times per second, meaning a second AI car can drive around the track by itself.
It’s all about replicating real life car racing. You need to find the best racing line, drift in and out of the bends, and pick your moment to take the lead. It’s like video game racing meets slot racing, but in real life and of course with no slots. We use 2.4 GHz wireless handsets so the number of cars on track and the distance they work at is fantastic. With extra track pieces being so affordable we expect to see kids creating 100 foot tracks outdoors – and building them in minutes not hours.
