Thank you for sharing your knowledge about typhography.
thank u sm!
Monospaced fonts are also used on programming because of vertical alignment of characters, which is very important while reading code.
Thanks for the video. I love the three colour combination of your presentation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you might have mixed up the ›Italic‹ and ›Oblique‹ style. When I remember what I heard on the history of typefaces ›Italic‹ was a style that brought back the handwritten aspect of lettering after the invention of Gutenbergs type printing press and became popular around Italy. Wikipedia also explains it the other way around than you did. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oblique_type
Very nicely ! Explain every aspects of typology.
excellent intro materials…much appreciated
After googling it – a glyph is the visual / design representation of a character. For example the second letter in the English alphabet can be written in lowercase both as small B and b. Different visuals – same character – that's what the glyph is.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us 😉
This is an incredible tutorial. keep it up
My understanding of the difference between a character and a glyph (from a programmer perspective) – is that a character is the conceptual representation of a letter. As in 'b' is the second letter in the English alphabet. A glyph is the visual representation of that character in a given font. Perhaps the real definition from a typographer might be different but language changes over time
Hey, that was a really nice video! You did however, mix up your description of oblique and italic. Thanks for the video!
I'm so grateful to have bumped into your channel! After years of struggling to get somebody who actually shows a step by step for beginners in post production to become confident and great in their work. Very informative and precise! Keep them coming. Many thanks from Kenya
Hello. Just wondering if this video is valid for the 2020 edition? https://youtu.be/VGKBam84ZAA
Amazing content, can't wait to watch the whole series! Very informative information that most self taught motion designers are not educated about.
This is so helpful thanks
