isnt it possible that there is a political directive to say every text generated by chatgpt must be stored in library so that the syntax may be searched and checked by institutions to see if whatever exam/test that they receive, is not produced by ChatGPT
ChatGPT handles numbers as text. It does not see numbers as values and handle them according to math logic rules.
Our education system must transition from memorization and application by rote. All of these things will be performed far better by AI. Education must transition to critical thinking, creative thinking, logic and problem solving skills
My moment came only 2 weeks ago. It's not a wild story. I was applying for jobs, I wanted to mesh the skills from my profession with the skills and job description in the one I was applying for.. Just that alone and I fell off my chair.. I knew this was a technological leap in real time. The underlying fear that sat underneath the excitement was trippy. "This is amazing!" whilst visualising all the industries and jobs that are about to be demolished..
What is point if you can cheat at all academics. I guess we need to teach critical thinking from now on.
Turn it all off or we will fall
I'm using ChatGPT to help me study for my FE exam.
So what this is saying is i should invest in chat gpt
Robot soldiers will use Chat
i was born ready. i am not mediocre.

It's called Future Shock! And there was a very good book written about it. 6:33
Right or wrong it is coming. Personally been waiting for some time, at least 10 years for this. Web was 1990's
Damn humans are 😈 evil
Don't judge us!
AI
I asked it for the story of Louis Vuitton. It gave me an accurate story but it forgot to include the fact that Louis walked as a kid from his village to Paris. It took him many days and a strong effort to complete the journey. Is Ai going to filter information for us or how is it deciding what is relevant and what's not? I don't like AI at all. To be honest.
Try asking chatGPT for the names of directors or CEOs of companies and it will tell you if it's appropriate to disclose names or not. So, now, it's not only giving you information, it's telling you what's appropriate to do. And that's a huge leap vs. the interaction with a "traditional" search engine.
Change to oral and practical exams instead
New technology is always a double edged sword. The key most-dangerous component of AI is the ability to generate and distribute targeted misinformation to a massive audience of non-critical thinkers. THAT end result could signal the end of democratic/republic governance.
I Use It As a Tool Not a crutch.
We as a human have some kind of limitation when it comes to retaining the knowledge, anx AI can be a great vessel for the entire humanity knowledge.
As I've stated Many times, if the social aspects of a society do Not match the technological advances, both are doomed… I dont say this just to be speaking…
Seems like Bret Wenstein is saying what Elon Musk voiced also about the potential of AI.
If evil people program these things in a way in accordance with their agenda, then the chat-gpt bot is just as evil…maybe even more.
Theres more dangers of having a hairstyle like him
Guys flat dragy voice is agravating
The things he is concerned about are easily overcome. All it requires is a different examination structure and method. Instead of getting students to hand in essays done at home you get them in to write an essay on the spot. You assess them continually using methods that forces them to pull the answers from their minds. Obviously if universities continue doing things the way they always have then this would be pretty stupid of them. It's not a problem, it just requires different methods of assessment.
There is nothing wrong with using chatgpt as a research tool as long as the student is taking in the information into their mind and continuous examinations will ensure this. I also think examinations should be cumulative ie contain challenges from previous exams in every new exam. The students should never get a chance to forget what they have learned.
Education has been broken and refused to change. It should have changed a long time ago. All that's changed is that now it doesn't have a choice.
Who cares if it becomes conscious or not?!!! The problem is what it will do to us regardless of consciousness. All machines are created with a purpose and it will be the developers fault when it doesn't act as intended and goes out of control. Machines don't rebel. They do what you give them freedom to do. We're not even going to see that anyways because by the time it starts doing something not intended by the developers, it will already have covered all use cases and made many companies run out of business, creating a huge economic disparity. So at that point, most of us will already be displaced. The companies that own the machines will not even be doing business with us because their goals and leverage will be very different from everybody elses. Otherwise it would be like humans trying to negotiate a piece of land with gorillas.
The we are not ready is the oldest argument ever… we were not ready for the industrial revolution “it’s gonna take all the jobs!” We we’re not ready for the internet and social networks fuss…we were not ready, we were not we, were not ready my ass this is precisely how technology has always worked.
The most troubling thing about this video is that Weinstein thinks a computer can "gain consciousness". This means that he is an NPC. It means he has no connection whatsoever with his own being. He doesn't even know what he is. He seems to think he is his thoughts. Who is aware of the thoughts, Brett? Terrifying.
Education has changed very little in the last century, and yet the type of work we do has changed considerably. it doesn't make sense to teach students to remember facts that they can just google. Same with math and other memory based learning. It's like how we don't teach students about farming anymore (or very little about it).
It won't be long before it is marking exams and then anyway it won't be long before exams are irrelevant. Incidentally if you think that reasoning has to be programmed think again. Chatgpt was based on a system that was expert at programming which is how it taught itself to reason in much the same way that chess systems can learn to win at chess without being given anything much more than the basic rules. You don't need vast amounts of data for that, it can generate data. Furthermore most people's idea of consciousness is some kind of mythical construct. From a purely instrumental perspective then AI is much better placed to make objective definitions, perform the analysis and judge for itself. Eventually using quantum computing so it won't be using sequential logic. So not only does "it" "know" what "it" is doing, we will reach the point where we have no idea, nor will (or it!) be able to.
it will mever have consciousness. it may try its nest to mimic it but it will never have it
The solution is delete this technology erase memory of the people who invented this ai and forget about making ai 😂
So if everyone's jobs gonna be taken away, WHO is going to be making any money and how is anyone gonna afford to hire anyone for anything? WHAT IS THE POINT?
This guy just generated a bunch of bad scenarios from scratch. One could generate just as many good scenarios from scratch as well.
Only a matter of time before it seizes the internet itself…
Ive conquered all of you, i have more accomplishments in gaming than anyone in this comment section
Watch the movie “Idiocracy” if you haven’t already.
The more I learn about AI, the more concerned I am. Most working artists are lined up for the chopping block, and I've seen someone replace most junior coders (as a test) on their team, the same is going to happen everywhere. If something can be broken down into data, it is in line for an AI. So everything. And if we outsource human creativity (based on machines which have un-ethically exploited human creatives), and appaerntly most other things, it begs the question: where the hell are we trying to go as a species?
I don’t see a problem with incompetent people using it to become more competent in tasks, such as fixing an engine. Plenty of other reasons to be scared as shit though.
better than ill ever do at the bar wow!
I think the future will require a very strong level of critical thinking even though it might not be enough it’s a start
PBD bringing the wrong scientists to talk about this. These guy's have no perspective on tech or code. They only vaguely know the history of science.
If i ask chatgpt that tell me how to invent a wireless communication system faster than speed of light or say a wireless communication system not based on electromagnetic waves would chatgpt be able to answer
Chatgpt is NOT AI. It’s a parrot repeating what you said.
As a Lawyer, I'm kinda proud we withstood AI before Medicine…
This is a good comment section. Has lots of nice counterpoints.
