I'm a literature student from Saudi Arabia and your videos helped me a lot.. Thank You 🙂
Great video, really helped. Thank you
Wow. Well done.
I just started to paint at 58. I do not think I have talent, but do have passion. I named my album on fb, Espressing my Abstract Self, not knowing at the time there was such a thing as Abstract Expressionism.
Your video was very informative and well done. It has given me even more desire to keep painting, thank you.
Good Work Spencer Thompson! Thank you for making the subject of Abstract Expressionism interesting and less stuffy.
i wish i could email you in some way but i have no idea how. only watched this video but you seem so interesting and into everything i am. i had gone to school for art history…anyways. i was looking for things for my internship or the undergrad students for a modern art class, and this is all great. i hope i get the time to watch other videos.
just send me a message through facebook and ill add you. the link is in the video description.
im sorry i dont have a facebook. no im not lying. if theres a way to email me through you tube you can do that. im not very good with technology so i have no idea i just know i get emails sometimes
you're cute!
This was perfect! i'm doing an essay on abstract expressionism and up until now it has all been very messy and confusing in my head. you made it much clearer!
Very thoughtful video, thank you.
Very well said – I loved the way you explained this movement. However, I am disappointed that you didn't mention a single artist that happened to be female. Frankenthaler, E. de Kooning, Krasner, Joan Mitchell, Grace Hartigan….the list goes on. Any of these artists deserve to be included.
Quick question: Does the name of this style require both words, "Abstract" and "Expressionism," or can it be called just "Expressionism?" I ask because if the name requires both words, that would suggest that there are other types of "expressionism."
I came upon you by accident and now I think I will be a devotee, Spencer. I'm a fan of intelligence and knowledge and you've got both in spades. Plus, it's so refreshing to listen to someone whose conversation isn't riddled with, "it's like" and "you know". Well done, dude.
"The Art movement that recontextualized New York City as the center of the Modern Art worId". I love this talk Spencer. Great overview. Well done.
