Because of this despicable foreign meddling, our good Marshal Zhang has been forced to agree to ever greater cooperation with the pan-Asian brothers of Japan, which operates in Manchuria through the seemingly all-powerful Mantetsu trust and the Concordia Association syndicate. Navigating through the muddy waters of Japanese interests will be difficult if the Fengtian wish to establish their legitimate government, but things are further complicated by the factional strife within the clique: regionalists, republican exiles, bandits, old loyalists and robber barons all wish for a share of the pie that the rapid economic development of the North East and the reconquest of the south are sure to bring. Can the Marshal be a good helmsman and steer the ship that is China towards the Great Rejuvenation of the Nation?

What I do with locked templates is send them as volunteers and get them encircled on purpose.
Hey Woodstock, if you are going to play Mao's Legacy after Ostalgie, as you are likely going in almost blind, here's a few tips on the endgame soviet leaders:
Romanov: best option, renews the fight against the US , weakens censorship and implements OGAS
Scherbitsky: like Brezhnev but less corrupt
Grishin: like Brezhnev
Ligachev: like Gorbachev but the USSR doesn't collapse
Gorbachev: the USSR auto loses the cold war in the end screen if he gets in Power
During the game you'll get three events to discredit or murder important reformers in the USSR, and an event to kill Andropov (also love how the game tells you he is a fuckin lib). If you either don't take at least two of those events or don't kill Andropov, Gorbachev will come to power, otherwise you'll get to influence who will succeed Chernenko. If you won't play Mao's Legacy, I hope this guide will at least be useful to some other viewer
