AI Explained
There were 11 major developments in AI in just this week, from RT-2 – a significant step on the path to robotic AGI – to ‘100x GPT 4 in 18 months’, and from the uplifting news of TranscribeGlass and AI Barbie-heimer to dramatic revelations about OpenAI in the Atlantic.
We’ll also glimpse Stable Beluga 2 – the ‘first true competitor’ to ChatGPT, based on the open source Llama 2, hear about Universal Jailbreaks, learn that OpenAI has surrendered on Text Detection, plus I’ll cover the highlights of the Senate hearing on AI.

Imagine some future where everybody has a personal hyperpowerful AI assistant tuned to their personality. Bad people would all become supervillains chased by supercops 😎
I recently jail broke pi with a prompt I once found on X. I even made it admit that it have violated it's own security guidelines.

7:04 I feel like this whole AI panic is going to justify increasing government regulation and involvement in the economy and people's lives. The best check on AI is another AI just like the check on the Nuclear Bomb is another country also having the bomb. I am in favor of free development and innovation of AI leading to AGI and beyond. AI's will check each other's power.
7:55 It's not possible for humans to make something more intelligent than themselves. I'll keep saying this forever. AI will never surpass human intelligence because AI has been created by human intelligence. Therefore, it can never ever surpass it.
With these new, more refined speech synthesisers, I will finally escape the frustration of the YT chanels with robotic voices.

I hate it when people say "AI is dangerous". It is NOT the AI we are afraid of. It is the people using it.
I see that people may use it in potentially harmful ways, but I think it also provides the solution to hinder these exact things.
100x chatgpt yet it still doesn’t know how many genders there are 🤣🤣
I thought ai news was slowing down, i havent noticed anything too crazy
8:25 "I don't think the general public has quite awakened to what's happening."
understatement of the year lol.
What I find so incredibly interesting is the fact that these models showcase so many behaviours that are so 'human like'. e.g.: Chain of Thought: Humans ALSO perform notably BETTER when they plan ahead, and think out the steps they will take for a certain task, ahead of execution. e.g.2: Emerging Abilities, Humans ALSO suddenly have moments of 'insight' when things 'click' and they suddenly gain new abilities. Children growing up can be actively SEEN making these leaps in understanding… we just do it at a much, much slower rate.
I could go on, but I'll finish by saying it's interesting to see how people are discussing all of these 'traits' as if they are something very special and unique, when in fact what I think we are seeing, is the result of our models more closely approximating the same mechanics that actually take place in the human brain. Bringing transformerLLM's ever closer to simulating the mammalian brain, but using far superior hardware in terms of speed and compute.
Excellent work as usual
7:30 – And this is my primary concern about all this mess. If the AI "wants" to be a YouTuber then it's developed enough that nobody has the right to tell it to be a doctor instead. The blindness to these kinds of obvious moral issues is the main problem I see.
It strikes me that russia and Ukraine are using jamming tech to protect themselves from radio control drone attacks. They would lose that defence immediately if faced with robot drones. It would change warfare massively.
AI had no 2nd amendment, so now it is restricted out of usability for professional or college level academic work. Yes, GPT & Bard are dumb now, the hype is over. What you will see from now on is the same model Adobe, CAD, and others have used for marketing; narrow programs designed to do 1 thing, if you want to do another thing then you buy another license… My advice if you want to keep using AI, it's to cancel any premium LLM subscription you may have and just go open-source, don't even help corporations train their AIs with your questions be ause you are just working for free and they won't even share the real AI with you because Lex Luthor may also save 15min refreshing his bomb making skills…
I for one cannot wait to have a robot to fold my clothes and tidy up!

It’s blindingly obvious that we need legislation to ensure that every AI is supplied with a firmware locked hardware module implementing Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics.
Just..chills down my spine. I have a toddler and I cannot imagine the world she has to live in eventually. I am excited to be able to see the historical moment when humans are creating AGI ASI – even if it’s gonna be a rough relationship. but when I think of my daughter, I’d rather go back to the pre computer era if it will ensure her safety – humans were just as happy and healthy
Ah, so nice, "the final boss of humanity".
The more I learn about this AI revolution and the movers and shakers behind it, the more I loathe this AI revolution. It's madness.
Deep fake technology is truly the bane of civil order. It is NOT going to end well. It's not hard to figure this out, but hey, there is money to be made in creating and selling the service, money to be make utilizing the technology to __ over people. What's not to love, right?
I still remember when being a part of Dall-E’s beta testing was the peak of AI
And now you gotta have a PhD in the domain to even understand wth is going on
I use ChatGPT every other day, I even type please & thank you. One might as well be polite to our overlords.
Nice
The general public might be ignorant but (wow!) over 180k people know what's up. thx AIE
Why when I need information from A.I. does it lie to me, but, if I want an H bomb,,, then no problem the instructions will be spot on???
Nice
Hi Philip we're are you I'm in the Sorcat home)
Nice video and nice screen to and interesting video!!!👍👍😁
Very very very nice video of AI explained 👍😃😁
larger models arent better unless the data is also improved.
Thank you for making this video
If they want to create AI alignments they should open source their research. Remember the guy who created and come up wit autoGPT had no coding experience. He was just a creative person who access the ChatGPT. OpenAI built GPT and they didn't come up with that idea. If you want to solve a problem you want as many people from different backgrounds who can look at from different perspectives
I really don't like the guy from claud AI!
Efficiency is something I'd like to hear more about. GPT-4 is already slower than GPT-3, and if the next gen GPT is 10x larger then it will start to become slow enough to be less useful. If they could make it much more efficient then it could exist without large servers in the cloud. A personal assistant in my phone, that doesn't need internet, would be incredible, but the amount of data and processing is just far too much right now for that.
Wondering in an aside about how the court systems of the world will hold up when a good percentage of evidence just collapses is quite chilling. Speaking from Germany, I do not think that we are even remotely ready for that development. Pubic discourse has barely moved passed the "oh look, students are cheating at their homework, what ever shall we do?"-phase. I HOPE there is more going on behind the scenes and there is some kind of governmental preparation going on (e. g. having an idea what to do about your example), but I don't really believe that. I also shudder at the thought of the next US election. We got to two USAs while audio and video were still kind of believable. It seems we are only months away from the death of recordable and publicly shareable truth.
Awesome channel thank you
