  1. Me: "I'm pretty sure he's going to use some sort of brush to do that real fast"
Proceeds to paint every single grass blade individually

  2. Run this by me….. 2:53…. how the hell do you get your lines to just glide on the canvas like that? My canvas has tiny grids that make that impossible, even with thinner applied. Are you painting on a flat board or something or am I doing something wrong?

  3. I don't get what I'm doing wrong.. You're very talented.. Thanks for the videos.

Can i ask you why you glaze the dark shadow on the blocked in color? Couldn't you just block in with darker tones where they have to be? What is the difference? Thank you

  4. LOL … I thought the tutorial was how to paint your lawn 🤣.
This painting is simply stunning, I love nature and you capture the very essence. I envy artists such as yourself. I never got past stick figures myself but admire such talent… this is so life like… and your Lilly pads, gorgeous.
How very kind of you to take the time to give people lessons … new subscriber here and I liked your tutorial very much … cheers from Sydney!

  5. 5.52 – we're starting to get somewhere, it's beginning to look like grass…. shit, that's when i realise how much i have to learn!

  6. I really enjoy your videos and your methods and way of teaching. I was really shocked when you said that about only having 12 subscribers, I watched again and sure enough, that's what you said. I was really wondering how that could be, I've seen middle aged housewives and their husbands painting on paper plates and they had hundreds or even thousands of subscribers.
When I came back for the third viewing in a row, I looked to see how may subscribers you have and it was not 12, not any more, it's now 409,000! WoW!
    that's more like it!
I have been trying to learn to paint and while I enjoy experimenting, sometimes I can't find the technique on my own. as a life long doodler I had no roadblocks that more practice didn't cure, but painting can sometimes stop me dead in my tracks, I don't know the tools or the techniques to do some of the things I try with the paints which I didn't as a doodler…….I''m watching this video again because I am trying to paint grass, a meadow, I knew from Bob Ross that his "magic fan brush" was one way to get those blades to appear, but…….I have fan brush problems, the bristles clump and if I put the paint on thick it's messy and looks like paint not grass.
When I try to thin the paint down, I'm lucky if I get one stroke with enough colour to leave little stripes but they look like I made them with a dinner fork.
So, I can figure out that one of my problems is loading the brush and another is the consistency of the paint.
I don't know if you have any videos about this, about the quality of the brushes and paints you're using to get the results you want, those are the results myself and well over 400,000 other people hope for too.
I do buy cheap supplies because I'm learning, but now I'm thinking I might be better off with a couple of higher quality tools and paints and I could just take care of them so they last longer.
I'm wondering if the fan brush should have a certain bristle type or count? When I first saw them and they're being used for grass and leaves, I assumed I should just grab some flimsy cheap ones and throw them away after I use them, because I imagined that fine hairs spread thin would be the best thing for what I want to do.
That's not right at all, because my fan brushes look more like little hands with four or five fingers than a fan and they leave ugly strokes when they leave strokes at all.
    Help! please.

  7. I have a question about painting grass. I am beginer. Started painting only 2 months ago but vegetation is still big problem for me. When I start painting grass as you showed on 2:42 with acrylic and while it is wet it has the same nice color as in this video but when it dries it gets much darker and there is almost no contrast with 1st layer. So what am I doing wrong here?

  8. Really enjoyed watching this video as I do all. I learn much from watching. So thankful and appreciate that its on you tube. BATES

  9. You make it look so easy. I will have to watch it again, my grass did not turn out like yours, lol. I know it takes practice. I will get it!

  10. This is amazing! You make it look so easy! I've been painting for a long time now, however I'm about to try your technique using liquin for the first time on grass… a little nervous, but hopeful! Beautiful work! 🙂

  11. Infinitas gracias, por las enseñanzas, los tips, la camara lenta para los detalles, para que podamos captar todo. Feliz de encontrar tu canal recomendado por un sr. francés. Un abrazo desde Chile

  12. I’m using a rigger brush but it won’t paint nice thin strokes! I’ve tried thinning paint with turpentine and oil but no difference…just too thick lines or no paint on canvas! What’s your secret?

  13. Made me laugh when you said seems weird saying hey everyone when i only have 12 subscribers lol!!! 🤣 312k subscribers later….. That was very helpful that . Ill use that technique more! Subbed and liked!!

  14. Dilemma: say you're painting a night scene, with a bright light in the foreground, and moonlight in the background, how would you do grass in that situation?
