Why do they want me to unsuscrbie so badly?
I thought the era of "surrealism" following the first world war was called "Da-da".
"The Treachery of Images," (the picture of the "not a pipe") you mentioned, is not surrealism. In fact, it's very logical. The painting is saying "This is not a pipe, it's just a picture of a pipe." It's nowhere near the neighborhood of surrealism.
