Easy Cubism Art Movement – Analytic Cubism vs Synthetic Cubism – Cubist portrait

Imperfect Paintings

In this easy cubism art movement video I look at Cubism and the difference between analytic cubism vs synthetic cubism. I can’t possibly tell everything about Cubism in this video so this is cubism light or easy cubism art. It’s also from my personal viewpoint. The Cubism art movement started around 1907 and lasted until 1920. I will paint a cubist portrait or cubist face, cubist style. Later on in this video I will also paint a cubist collage. The synthetic cubism collage is more fun to do, you can combine all sort of materials.

  1. You did it again Albert. You truly nailed it. Though I have some experience painting cubist art, your lesson and how you deconstructed the principles of cubism made it even simpler and more accessible for me to execute. This clip is a Grammy award-deserving production. Thank you for the lesson.

  2. I just found your channel and watched this video after making a similar (analytical cubism) video for my channel! I love how you did this…very fun and spontaneous. Looking forward to checking out your other videos 🙏

  3. Thanks for this video Albert! You've defined and explained the characteristics of both styles of cubism really well and I finally understand it! Will definitely be giving it a try!

  4. This is my first cubic painting tutorial I am going through ever. I did some cubic art before but mostly looking at other cubic art and just following my intuition. This one really opens up the basics in more depth. Thanks for the wonderful lesson

  5. Excellent tutorial with clear explanations of the important distinctions between the 2 major styles of cubism..would love to see your take on American modernist painter Stuart Davis style which synthesized elements of cubism and an early proto pop art…
