To me, it is like paying attention to a wave and yet the wave is part of the big ocean. You can also pay attention in a broader way to the vast ocean.
I think the main point in single-pointed concentration. When you think your thoughts about things being interconnected, perhaps you can notice the thoughts that arise in your mind. Then you have mindfulness of thoughts.

I’m struggling to understand how we can be mindful of one thing when everything is an interconnected whole, with nothing having a separate essence. It seems paradoxical.

As someone diagnosed with adhd this is very difficult, but I feel a little bit closer to peaceful concentration every time I meditate. For anyone else out there with a similar circumstance stay strong <3
