I ask 67 questions to Oxford Scholar and AI researcher Andrew Trask as we go for a walk through Granary Square in London, England. Trask is a PhD student at Oxford University where he researches Deep Learning approaches with special emphasis on human language. We worked together on my Udacity deep learning nanodegree and I have a great deal of respect for his technical storytelling ability.

I was wandering if you know any good places where you can do research on AI (not only in the US). Is Oxford one of the best universities in this field? I'm looking for something "intense" (as Andrew said) to do next year, after I graduate.

My off the cuff definition of consciousness is: using sensory information to make models of the world around yourself that can be used to make useful predictions and including yourself in the models.

You are on a non starter there since you cannot explain the unexplainable. You're like a man searching for the black cat on Mars that does not exist but the trouble is in your case you have found it when you say that there is a place for religion in Science! or that it might be a good idea to spend time enforcing that which does not exist! Good luck pall but I wouldn't trust your programmes. You are a person working to enforce Islam!
Siraj, why don't you ask these people you interview whether Machine Learning "RESEARCH" can be done without being a part of academia (or industry giants) or without having PhD?
