A Video Essay/Remix centered around the writings of Roland Barthes, a 1950’s French Philosopher and Semiotician who wrote a famous essay the video is based on linked below. The voices are from several sources that I took and remixed with a cover version of Hans Zimmer – Chevaliers De Sangreal (cover version done by ThatCelloGuy link below). The intent is a deconstruction about the most misunderstood form of art there is, but it’s mainly a love letter to an art form, a particular strange form of escapism, that has added a significant amount of value to my life, be it intellectual, creative or personal. Pro Wrestling has helped me through depression, through anxiety, boredom and general unhappiness.
This is to Pro Wrestling. And the Performers who make it happen.

  1. This is incredible. I'll be sure to share this. That clip of Eddie finally winning the title brought a tear to my eye. That was one of those moments where the audience feels like they won too. It's hard to replicate that sort of joy in any other entertainment medium. Pro Wrestling is all the sports drama with none of the lulls in action that conventional sports have most of the time because of the dramatic elements. Seeing a Daniel Bryan, Eddie Guerrero or Kofi Kingston rise to the top over the course of years is as good as entertainment gets.
