Observer Effect is my favourite episode of Enterprise followed closely by Broken Bow and Regeneration.
It's my favorite ENTERPRISE episode. I agree with your thoughts overall.
Spoiler I guess… final episode said they did 10 years in space. As others suggested, they could have done the Romulus War. As you know the Romulus's were already enterfearing in certain things.
