Setting up a still life and draw objects from life will be difficult at first but as time passes you will start to see your skills increase and improve significantly. These still lifes don’t have to be complex at all, they can be as simple as a cup on a kitchen table. Experiment with different lighting effects by adding a small desk lamp and shine the light from different angles. This will also help you to better understand shadows and light and how your light source can affect the object you are drawing or sketching.

Idk if you read all of your comments but I have a different question. How do you get so many viewers and comments? I’m watching because I’m learning and your videos are great, but as I see all your comments I’m wondering how you do that? Can you find a way to get in touch?
you're awesome dude
am I supposed to draw this? I don't know, it seems kinda hard. art just seems to not be my thing, even though I can draw ok. i mean, if im drawing something exactly off the internet, its pretty good. but if im making something from my head, i suck
thanks! your videos help me so much and since i started watching your videos i have tremendously improved in drawing! you didn’t need to make these videos, but you did. For the sake of other people who need help like i did.
Thank you, Sir for this series! I'm 61 and always wished I could draw. Now, I'm finally learning from you! Have you ever drawn cypress trees? I spend alot of time kayaking in a nearby swamp and would love to learn to draw a cypress tree.
Thank you for making this so simple for me to understand
I love your videos! So much I want to learn, but one thing for now is reflective surfaces. Like how would we sketch that mason jar?
Now this is what I call a "true" artist. I really am enjoying your drawing videos. I'm learning so much. Thank you so much.

You are so special. I loved your still life. I thought you would have us sketch it. This was five years ago … you're probably a real rock star by now.
