Dr. Kemple (https://cp-insight.com/about/) discusses the discipline of semiotics, looking at the nature of signs and their importance in our lives.
—
Glossary:
Semiotics – the study of the action of signs and the normative science of truth.
Semiosis – the use of signs by a living being.
Instrumental sign-vehicle – a sign-vehicle which must first be grasped as an object itself in order that the further object it signifies may be grasped.
Formal sign-vehicle – a sign-vehicle which is not grasped as an object itself but whose whole existence consists in conveying some mind to an object (a percept or concept).
Sign – the irreducibly triadic relation of an object and interpretant as mediated by a sign-vehicle (intermediately in the case of an instrumental sign-vehicle and directly in the case of a formal sign-vehicle).

Not only is this a clear and succinct explanation of the subject and terms, but also I find you have a remarkably appealing voice which is very much conducive to the proper frame of mind. (i.e., one suitable to diving into a complex and highly abstracted topic.) You sound earnest, affable and well-informed. Also your enunciation is wonderful.
At approximately t=16:43 you talk about adopting a “synokistic” perspective. What is the word you say? And what previous video is it mentioned in? I would love to learn and understand what is being talked about here!
