  1. Following this technological shift is truly fascinating. For anybody who ever wondered why we need to study within subjects that fall outside of the realm of science proper, such as philosophy, this technological shift will show you why: everyone is a philosopher again, given that everything we believe that we know is being challenged by technological developments that aren't properly understood. Of course, some people understand the tech better than others, but always with their own confirmation bias and their own ideological bent – this whole question needs to be tackled via a multi-disciplinarian approach, taking into account various different kinds of human intelligence, schools of thought and interpretations. It is the debate of our time and, seemingly, no consensus will be formed.

In any case, one cannot help but enjoy the ride.

  2. Great representation in the Senate hearing, Gary! Sam Altman is on the fluff train, you brought sobering takes to the discussion.
… Christ Almighty it's scary to think that legislation and enforcement is the primary means of risk containment on this topic.

  3. Great response for the potential of revolutionizing biological science. I highly agree, and am hopeful that age-related diseases will be tackled in the near future.

  4. Either this video content is 4yrs old,, (june 2023 now)
    Or:
This guy is so obviously covering up,, straight lying about Tesla not having autonomous driving , lol, siting that the tesla ran into an airplane,, people have drove thru the glass front of 7-11 not drunk! Just hit the gas looking backwards thinking they were in reverse but were in drive” lol.

He is downplaying AI abilities to make AI sound like toy or a simple bot , sited the chest playing bot as the prime example of AI capability!

WOW who is paying this dude??😂

What happens if AI goes rogue (umm that question implies that it is not already uncontained) this entire peice is designed to disrupt truth by using phycologically design script.
This whole thing is targeting youth that has not realized that a small portion of humans are totally corrupt, and a fraction of those corrupt are highly intelligent, and a fraction of those possess great wealth and manipulate thousands that influence billions.

    One bad apple kid,
    Made a safe space.

  5. All this A.I. thingy going on is for me another tech bubble. Why? Because if I had a question on a very important matter – be it kids, health, money or whatever – I would consider the A.I. answer a factor, but never base my final decision on it solely. Like a "third party view". If at all.
At the moment it looks more like "let me google this for you and put into a nice narration" thingy. Can be fun, can be sometimes educational. But it dangerous if you take it as a given.

  6. This video (and a lot more, tbh) should be required viewing before anyone publishes anything about "AI".

I really HOPE (but not believe) that this surge in AI in pop culture leads to a drastic reduction in the "misinformation" thing, not because AI will do it directly, but because it will force people to recognize it. All the things you said about misinformation are ALREADY happening, the difference is it's not assisted by a computer program. Unfortunately what I've already observed is people are just blindly accepting the output of these LLMs unless it's one of those incredibly drastic hallucinating episodes, or someone who actually knows the real answer disproves it, assuming they even come across that disproof.

  7. This is the type of guy I want in charge of AI development
He understands the issues. He isn't diluted. He isn't just here to make money. He's realistic about the applications and the benefits.

  8. Go watch that Twilight Zone episode where the big plant manager starts replacing all of his workers with machines because of not having to pay them wages, or worry about health insurance etc. In the end (spoiler alert) he himself is replaced by a more efficient plant manager.

  9. Finally someone who understands all the tech and isn't just senselessly advocating for more of it, drinking the Kool-Aid if you will. It's refreshing to hear. There are some things AI can do but there's a whole lot more it can't or would bungle up. And I would argue most of what we're seeing now is still just machine learning, not AI and certainly nowhere near sentience. Calling it sentient is like watching a child pretend to be an alien and calling it an alien. It's hard to explain to people what is happening, or even to draw an analogy, because what is happening is so convincing in nature, so most people don't get it even if it's explained to them. Even if the child is really good at pretending to be an alien, they will never be an alien.

  10. This guy is soooo opinionated. Clearly left leaning as well. Buddy, we don't need AI to spread lies. Look at what the media, politicians, tech companies, military intelligence, etc did to suppress the hunter laptop story or to make up the lie that Trump was a Russian spy. People are already capable of all those things.

  11. 13:28 fascism? You just said 10:56 WTF? My guy What if your system of government is corrupt? They will just use itch in the same exact way but in reverse. The promise is free speech no matter what! OF COURSE we don't want chat bot's manipulating the masses BUT at the same time you're not the arbiter of truth. You get me? & you can't expect someone to give up their freedom of expression and speech for you to feel more safe. If you feel that way go ahead and get rid of the United States Constitution like a fascist would. Thank you

  12. What was wrong with the AI-generated JWST response put on screen? You said over it that AI makes makes but didn't say where the mistake(s) were in this example. If there are any they weren't obvious. I think this is poor editing

  13. AI taking over the world is a stupid concept. Humans have all these primitive instincts for self preservation and reproduction and so on, and so long as we don't program our AI to have those things they'd have no reason to want any of that. Irobot is probably the only realistic example of what could go wrong with AI (so long as the programmers aren't complete dumbasses who give AI survival instincts).
