The Atlantic describes futurist and philosopher Jason Silva as “A Timothy Leary of the Viral Video Age.” A self-professed “wonderjunkie” Silva is the creator of “Shots of Awe,” micro-documentaries that explore creativity, innovation, futurism, technology and the human condition. In this episode, Jason dives into the ritual of experiential design, a visceral practice he uses to spark creativity during a “flow state” in order to reach a deeper awareness.

  2. Nice Video! Apologies for chiming in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you tried – Marnaavid Unexplainable Intervention (should be on google have a look)? It is a great one off guide for learning how to hack your flow state without the headache. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my work buddy got astronomical results with it.

  3. Wow, I also do speak alone at times about my own perspective on Philosophy and the way I'd like the world to be, but I've never thought of recording it… thanks for your inspiring story BTW

  4. I find flow when I write often. going to need to start keeping a camera around.
I find a lot of parallels between my poetry and your shots of awe.
this is not a poem but a flow piece your videos inspired.

Existential angst and the illusion of time or the lack there of occupy as much as fifty percent of my skull most if the time and up to ninety percent some of the time sometimes I'm more than ninety percent insane and I'm always at least fifty percent out of my mind but I don't mind too much because the desire to feel to think to be to create to love burns hot and bright in me this fire will likely burn me out burn me down one day but its better to burn out than fade away and I'd rather be eaten alive by a pack of wild dogs than slip quietly into peace peacefully in my sleep I've left pieces of my heart all over the world in many different hands and I still have more heart than most and I'll keep giving pieces of it away till the day I die because it will never die never expire never stop loving giving doing being loving giving loving giving what is more important than the feeling of love we leave behind in other peoples hearts what is more important than the love we plant in other peoples hearts what is more important than the love that we are responsible for other people leaving behind in other peoples hearts

    love your videos!
I can only hope to one day touch as many people with my work as you do with yours.
you and Neil now are added to my list for the worlds best poker game.

  5. Man, that’s awesome!! Love this guy, I listen to all his stuff and it’s awe inspiring that his videos are improv’d!! Gotta get me some flow state!! 👌

  6. I do the same thing! Just not with the same production value you do it in (I use a mic, audio ends up unusable in the end anyway lolz). Its great to know that I'm not the only one who does it and seeing someone do it more profoundly will encourage me to do it more and to do it better!
Jason Silva, your officially my role model, seeing this video puts you more so in my foresight in how I wish to work. We may never met, but our journey will unite.

  7. I was a philosopher major and I assure you none of my professors and thought leaders would take this guy serious. Playing science fiction music, and having digital and scientific sounding things like e=mc2 in the background and quoting other poets or philosophers doesn’t make you a modern day philosophy. Pick up some books by real philosophers like Sam harris or Dawkins or Hawking and educate yourself Silva. Stringing together at a rapid patter scientific and philosophy sounding terms sprinkled with new age garbage doesn’t make you an expert. On your plus side I’m sure you make an impact in the life of the selfie taking, bunny ear snap chat bimbos online and they repost your regurgitation so everyone can comment on their facebook

  8. Appreciate Video! Apologies for the intrusion, I would love your thoughts. Have you ever tried – Marnaavid Unexplainable Intervention (probably on Google)? It is a good one of a kind product for learning how to hack your flow state without the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cousin at last got amazing success with it.

  9. I like how her said he becomes anxious when producing…. when i have ideas im connected to. that can help others.. i feel like i need to Flow with it. Not for money but for the sake of it. I realize now he utilizes this to inspire or hearts.
