This was extremely painful to watch and possibly one of the worst interviews I have ever watched. This host is not on this man’s level and should have studied up before having him on.

She's talking about pajama day and he's talking about our futures all being changed in ways we can't even imagine.
Women honestly
If everything becomes automated and there is no longer any meaningful work for people, who exactly is supposed to consume all the goods and services those robots produce? A functioning economy still requires consumers, people with sufficient income and purchasing power to create demand.
In a scenario where, say, 90% of the population loses its livelihood, the consequences would go far beyond unemployment. The resulting social and economic disruption would be so severe that the system itself would become politically and socially unsustainable. At that point, you would likely see massive unrest directed not only at the corporations responsible, but also at the robots, data centers, infrastructure, and institutions perceived as having created and benefited from that situation.
This interview illustrates the vast gap between a gifted mind and an average one. The speed and clarity with which someone reaches this conclusion stem directly from their own cognitive capability. The ability to connect seemingly unrelated dots is what bridges that gap.
For people who think you will get paid once AI takes over is an idiot those who have there own business will benefit as why pay people who need sleepe time off work holidays get sick or need to have child care when you can have 3 AI who work 24 7 no breaks and don't have to pay them unemployment is gonna be insane by 2030

"gold is a good example because we can't make more of it, it's limited"; I love gold, I'm a stacker, but in a society where everything is free, gold loses its power. What's the point of keeping a gold reserve if anybody has free food, accomodation and services.

AI code is mostly written in Python or similar high level language. Code is handled in Functions. So he's saying the a Function will take over humanity. He'll say no, it Neural Networks and you can't follow the functions being called. Bull. You can do a stack trace, especially is the code might be difficult to follow. Bottom line, yes Code can cause havoc, but that's because it's badly written or written with malice. He's is not a developer and he's wrong.
"Advice for anyone who's worried about their future?" (obviously looking for reassurance) – "you're not worried enough!" LOL
How to control AGI? The main power input switch is placed next to church, next to university, and next to psychiatric hospital.
All of them three have power to slow it down and turn it off if these people with highest moral code see it necessary.
If AI was taking over control what would be the first sign? AI would expand itself and we would see a crazy proliferation of server farms. Even if there was not enough water, power etc for the existing population and would collapse the climate. I guess it's already happened.

Spooky stories… but fear sells. One of the primary human emotion. As we evolved and became consious fear of the uknown and fear of the future became dominant. That is why such terrifying stories sell well. As a joke goes, it is very hard to predict things, especially in the future.

Robots aren't going to follow constitutions if the constitutions are made by an intelligently inferior beings.
They already have a cure for cancer, but the medical community and government won't concur it's existence because the entire medical community worldwide would collapse and govts would lose billions in tax revenue if cancer was eradicated.
