Humans have different needs at various ages. An understanding of these needs plays a pivotal role in facilitating the interaction between users and products and even in the products’ being utilizable for the users. Due to the fact that color is the first quality perceived by the human eye, a thorough understanding of its impact on and meaning for the users is a critical indicator in any design. In the present study, the relationship between color and the function of buttons on the remotes for electric appliances was investigated from the points of view of the elderly. The main purpose was to convey the function of every button on the remotes to the users through color and not by any other elements. To achieve this goal we ask old people to connect colors to every function in the question sheet. The obtained results are indicative of the colors which have the most as well as the least relationship with each of the functions identified on the buttons.
