Anne Bogart’s “What’s the Story: Essays about Art, Theater, and Storytelling”

Groundbreaking director Anne Bogart, celebrates the publication of her collected writings on theatre in “What’s the Story” (Routledge, 2014). Her latest collection of essays explores the story-telling impulse, asking how she, as a ‘product of postmodernism,’ can reconnect to the primal act of making meaning and telling stories.

The book also investigates how theatre practitioners can think of themselves not as stagers of plays but ‘orchestrators of social interactions’ and participants in an on-going dialogue about the future.

The Martin Segal Theatre Center presented “What’s the Story” on May 19, 2014 at the Graduate Center, CUNY.
