Since the launch of ChatGPT, it’s become clear that what once seemed the stuff of science fiction is here, now, with the potential to transform our lives…Some say artificial intelligence will enhance human capacity and well-being…
Others, including some of the very researchers developing the new technology, warn it could drive humanity to extinction. They’re calling on policymakers to act quickly and decisively to regulate risks. But is that even possible for machines capable of learning at a pace that far outstrips human intelligence? Do the benefits of AI – in education, medicine and elsewhere – outweigh the perils?

  2. Sorry Mr. Jürgen Schmidhuber, you are total waste of time. Don't worry about ethics, if we put 10 people in a room they won't agree on what the moral compass for AI should be. Don't worry about jobs lost, we had the industrial revolution.
    Sorry, when Ai can direct robots to manufacture, service and operate other robots, there will be NO jobs left for humans.
    Flipping burgers? AI robot can do it. (Even today, there are robots who can). Write a legal brief? AI can do it better than a lawyer. Diagnose an illness? AI can do it better than a human. Write jokes? Well, maybe we all can make a living out of writing jokes. Or beings jokes, like Herr Jürgen Schmidhuber.
