  1. This teacher is the real teacher of art.I have been in art school, these types are the most loved amongst students who love art.
Respect. He reminds me of one of mine teacher, who looked like Rifleman from Frozen Throne, this guy does too haha

  2. I attended a well known Art College in the 80's and the teachers at that college weren't even 1/25 as knowledgeable as this guy. I ended up leaving, as most students did, and never picking up a brush again. That's what happens when a college is filled with poor teachers.

  3. Hahaha. Transitions….he said see where your fingers meet, there's no right angle there…I should hope not or else your fingers are wickedly deformed!!

  4. I like his stuff on the golden section and spatial division but I'm not certain you can judge the success or failure of a picture on whether it conforms to certain rules. The fact that Hockney, objectively a superior artist to this man, chooses to accentuate a colour effect in a landscape is his artistic choice. It's emotional not technical. Otherwise you are doing the work of a camera. Stranger still when the teacher rightly praises the creativity of Van Gogh.

  5. i appreciate your lectures and find them very insightful… one criticism i have — and do not take this as an attack but an observation.. this is the internet after all — is that for such a well informed student and teacher of the arts, a 1 hour long video with ‘Eine kleine Nachtmusik’ looping in the background for its entirety ..although most would not give it a second thought, and perhaps it’s usage and placement is even subjective, i must argue that this subtracts from the overall presentation and also from your implicit claim of understanding so-called ‘form’ and ‘rhythm’ (if you’re qualified to teach it that implies a level of understanding at least greater than of those being taught.. granted not always the case).. silence (negative space?) would have been preferable, with the music reserved for use at the intersections of scenes. anyway. not important, good information shared in this video and i suppose that’s all we really care about. thank you again.
