This demonstration-packed performance features spectacular white hot reactions, crazy colour changes, welding, angle grinders, gunpowder, 8 pence coins and a working car engine!
Andrew Szydlo is a chemist and secondary school teacher at Highgate School, well-loved by pupils and Ri attendees alike.
He has given public lectures around the country, been featured on TV shows and has become a popular part of the Ri Channel in the last year.

1:43:01 talk about welding……….but he was brazing a coin……….with a brass brazing rod, not a welding rod, and no flux whatsoever, its brazing because the work piece isnt melted in the process, all he do is melting an alloy to bondthe work pieced, sorry for my bad english, the welding part is a bit MISLEADING

I am an old fart, I have lived an exciting, and full life, all around me my friends and relatives are going on to the next life, much to my dismay, but finding some great videos like this brings new things into my life, and excites my brain as if I were a young man once again, thanks so very much for putting these out there for we very old kids to lean and enjoy!

At around 40 min he says the colourless gas is NO, but that's wrong, it's actually N2O4.

This man loves his subject and loves to teach…wish my chemistry teacher had been him…by thye way my physics teacher back in 1980 was just as mad as this guy….miss you Dr Lord…hope you are causing mayhem up there…
