“Freedom Painting – Part Two”

Welcome back to another BobBlast!

This BobBlast is a continuation of the previous Blast – when I began my Freedom Paintings! This is the month that I am taking some time off in my studio – pushing, drawing and painting all over the place. For me, especially after traveling for weeks of workshops, I am so excited to paint big loose abstracts again, back in the comfort and safety of my studio!

I’ve always loved painting large abstract, expressionistic paintings! The process may take hours and days to make. That’s not a problem! It’s what we painters do.

My reason for continuing the demonstrations of these three paintings is to paint by my intuition – to react on a hunch and do a painting I have never done before. I can only define a hunch as that “funny feeling” when you spontaneously know you are a painting a painting you had only imagined… and it suddenly appears!

Now it’s done. And again – each painting starts out with a color combination determined first – and next is pure painting. To me, this is intuitive painting. Keep it wet, juicy and loose!
