British physicist Brian Cox is challenged by the presenter of Radio 4’s ‘Life Scientific’, Jim Al-Khalili, to explain the rules of quantum mechanics in just a minute. Brian succeeds; while conceding that the idea that everything is inherently probabilistic, is challenging. Even Einstein found it difficult.

  1. What rubbish

No science is behind quantum stuff, its a religion within science

if humans cannot observe something, it cannot be explained with science, as science needs humans to be able to observe

All quantum stuff is based on faith, its faith based ideas, same as any religion, that all these science people try to laugh at.

Big bang theory, came from religious idea that conception the act of male ejaculation into a woman to start the process of birth in mammals, that we humans are. Its a sacred thing in religion, and science took that idea and then pretended the universe started with a big bang.

So much of science is based on faith, no better then any religion, and quantum everything is faith based ideas, with no way of humans to observe these things, so they cannot be proven by how science is supposed to work.

  2. Quantum superposition is essentially the 15th century epicycles of our time. We have excellent predicive math and it allows us to engineer and build cool stuff but the why is illogical and makes no sense when you relate it to reality. Epicycles and the math from it was also an excellent predictor but the base assumptions and understanding were wrong. This is the state of modern quantum physics theory imo. We need a "guy on a train in 1905 moment" (Einstein reference if not clear) to break the logjam before this moves our understanding forward.

  3. I was talking about real letters. For me E is E , To is Tob, X is my real X, W is W. If you can't understand the letters you maybe need to go to pre school.

  4. But…the real test of this and every theory is to explain in under 60 seconds how it’s relevant to your day to day life paying your bills, feeding the family, and maintaining the resilience to get through the ceaseless grind. You can sit around all you like, stroke your chin, pontificate on all manner of wondrous things. It doesn’t stop energy companies shafting you, politicians failing you, or keep a roof over your head.
