i mean, curly here, may as well be some professor in the Third Reich, pontificating about the greatness of the Western Civilization.
Incremental change. Rise in atheism? Not newsworthy, but happening? Rise in acceptance of atheism? Reduction in fear of atheism? All, if incremental, not newsworthy, but relevant.
The question and discussion of treatment of animals always takes me to pets. Humans believe that it is good to create designer pets. Animals that are so far removed from their wild ancestors. And that their pets should not have the outcomes of their children. Children go from babies to toddlers all the way to adolescence and eventually they are able to live on their own, choose their life partners, have and raise their own children. All this is denied designer pets.
Goodness why is Rd so popular how far has he gotten is, what we're in a great place? When is he retiring? How much money do U need? Language totally screwed us didn't it ?
Richard Dawkins and Steven Pinker are of course great minds.
the assumption that religion will go extinct is hard to support. If we look at cultures today and families and women who actually have more than 2.1 children we can see it is mostly religious people who are practicing their faith who have more than 2.1, even three and more children and we can also clearly see that it is secularized people having far less than 2.1 children.
so in 60 or 90 or 120 years time there will be far more religious people around and far less secular people.
Another point I want to mention here Mr Dawkins and Mr Pinker are still living in the old scientific paradigm which is mostly bowing down to physicalism and atheism.
The new scientific paradime will very likely be like this, time and space are not elements of fundamental reality, and evolution has created a headset for us and this headset has very little or nothing to do with fundamental reality,
The new paradime is this
the basis of everything or even better everything is consciousness or we could also call it God.
Religious thinking of course has brought a lot of nonsense and unscientific weirdness, but the essence of the new science and the old religions is the same which is everything is God or to make it easier for atheists everything is a big mind or consciousness.
and of course the old atheist and physicalist system of thinking and interpreting the world will only disappear over time and the representatives of this old paradime time will be succeeded by other thinkers who will be able to embrace the new everything is consciousness or God's way of seeing things.
Again Richard Dawkins and Steven Pinker are great great thinkers and have brought lots of important knowledge to our cultures, but it's hard for them to let go of some aspects of their thinking, like their dislike of religion and they're liking of physicalism.

THE PROOF THAT STRETCHING SPACE CHANGES (SLOWS) TIME
Physical Principle: Stretched Space = Stretched Time
This is NOT a metaphor.
This is a literal physical law that comes from General Relativity’s core equation: ds^2 = g_{munu} dx^mu dx^nu
When space expands, the spatial metric terms (the , , etc.) increase. In GR, time is not a separate container: the spatial and temporal parts of spacetime are locked together.
When space is stretched, the temporal part of the metric also stretches.
This means:

For two events in an expanding universe:
dt_{text{now}} = (1+z), dt_{text{early}} — it is pure redshift-time relation.
Since is HUGE in early universe (≈10¹¹–10¹² at quark confinement), dt_{text{now}} = 10^{11}–10^{12} dt_{text{early}}
Solve for the early time:dt_{text{early}} = frac{dt_{text{now}}}{10^{11}–10^{12}}
✔ One second now = 10¹¹–10¹² seconds then
So the early clock was faster.
Two-Clock Comparison (The Unbreakable Proof)
Set both clocks to start together at the same cosmological instant.
Clock A (Early Clock) runs 10¹² × faster, 13.8 billion yrs
Clock B (Our clock today) runs slower, 6 days Both start at the same instant.
Both stop at the same instant.
What each clock measures is different.
✔ Corrected Final Result: 13.8 billion early years = 6 days today
Simple algebra example
Speed = Distance/ time
Time=distance/c ( speed of light)
Pinker, with his vomit-inducing optimism theories, has a bumper sticker that says, "I smile because I have no clue." On his second car, the sticker says, "I'm OK, you're OK".
To claim that gun control has no correlation to homicide rates in the U.S. (despite an incontrovertible correlation in the rest of the world) leads one to the conclusion that he may be on the gun manufacturers' payroll. To be a bona fide philosopher, one must retain a modicum of common sense, not just engage in flights of center-right fancy.
Dawkins‘s response that he’s “looking forward to humanity going extinct“ has in my view just disqualified him as a serious thinker. Why? Because to support such a judgment, one has to have a head full of fallacies at some level, even if in a discussion like this, he can seem like a reasonable person.
